You are all welcome to suggest it to VFO, whether it is a big deal to make Jaws speak the characters while they show as stars on the screen is something I can't judge as I am not a programmer,

I dont think he wants his password in clear text. I think he wants Jaws to echo the characters as he types them. The screen would still show stars and the speech history would also... It really isnt

OK, that's splitting hairs... The characters in your password are spoken as you choose them. My point still stands that the majority of VO users just type the password as they hear the characters.

Older versions of JAWS used to have that option. I forget when that changed,
exactly, but I think around version 6 or 7. there also used to not be a way
