Well, it worked for me when I right arrowed on the phrase that asked if I wanted to open or save. It was then necessary to choose Save or Save As, and perhaps severl other options.

I'm not fond of the ribbon structure either but compensate for it by keeping a list of keystrokes that I may use on a regular basis., plus some tips about basic ribbon navigation.

You might want to get the windows ten textbook from Access Technology Institute; it's not cheap, but it's the only thing that got me a bit functional again!

My machine attempted to install the Creator’s update over night. It rebooted and is frozen at the 88% mark in the install. It gets to that point each time I restart the machine. How do I stop it

IDK... It didn't do it when I upgraded win7 to the Current release of Win 10 1607... It started when I did a clean install of Windows 10 Creators Edition 1703 pre release... I don't remember it doing
