Alt+v=view,
2, tab until you hear something like,
Layout change the view,
Press enter,
3, now use the arrow key, look for list grid, and press enter.

Alt+V still works, but it does have a ribbon menu, no way around that.
One useful shortcut in Windows 10 is Alt+2 (that is the 2 on the number row), it will create a new folder if you are in a Folder

I would try hitting ESC a couple of times before you hit ALT+V as you will get dings if you already have another tab that has focus.
I don't know exactly what you mean with regard to "stupid ribbon"

That’s probably a default. File-cluster size is predetermined, according to the total size of the hard drive.

Have you checked if Protected Mode is on? Load the document and then press Alt+F followed by "I" and "E" or you can load the document and then press F12 to save it, if it is in protected mode you'll

I use Courier New at home constantly, I think I use 11 points, and for the reason you cite. It's very similar to Pica. I've varied between 11 and 12 over the years.

Did you consider using a standard table instead of tabs? They are usually much more accessible to screen readers than tabs.
