Re: CONFUSED! Adobe Reader XI seems to do OCR automatically?
Gudrun,
Now I'm a bit confused, so we're going to have to walk each other through some of the details to see where our differences lie and whether there is something toxic going on between

Hi Dave: Well, I was able to fill out the form if I turned JAWS off and had my reader tell me where I'd landed, and I could read that form with JAWS and Adobe DC, so I know you're supposed to be able

Re: CONFUSED! Adobe Reader XI seems to do OCR automatically?
Gudrun,
It may be that the resultant OCR is not a form that you can fill in and send
back.
I've tried to use the forms mode with my copy of Adobe Acrobat 9, and while
it allows me to tab to fields

Re: CONFUSED! Adobe Reader XI seems to do OCR automatically?
Hello again: I tried opening the W9 file, and I hit the keystroke to OCr it, and I heard the process start. After a few seconds, I heard the name of the file. I hit alt-f and s to save it with text

Re: grammatical issues
Equally gracious, Douglas. Not that I'm a judge, let alone a moderator, but this post also deserves appreciation. Now we can go back to muddling through JAWS.

Re: grammatical issues
Too many mistakes. Some spellings wouldn't even be spelled wrong by dictation. I won't say more on this.

Re: grammatical issues
Everyone is assuming that Karim is using English as a second language, and maybe this is indeed the case. But isn't it also possible that he is composing his messages on a touchpad-style smart phone

This is a jaws list. There are blind people from all over the world subscribed to it. Not everyone speaks American English and even if they do a GED is not a requirement for membership to this list.

Re: grammatical issues
I have to "side with" Cindy in this specific situation.
While I find some of Karim's messages a bit difficult to decipher I also recognize that we have English as a Second Language (ESL) at play

Re: grammatical issues
I think that what I am saying is off topic, but I think this is rude and intolerant behavior on the part of American English speaking people. First off, English is clearly a second language for Karim,

grammatical issues
may i ask what language or dialect karim uses, or if she knows the correct spellings of english words? perhaps she could get a dictionary of english words, or take a course in grammar and spelling.

Re: With latest JAWS 16, is computer freezing still using alt tab with Adobe?
Hi,
When I first updated to Jaws 17 at work the issue of my computer locking up when alt tabbing from a PDF was still there, however, in the past week or two, the problem seems to have been fixed.

Karim Sidi has tagged an unrelated request for this information on to several earlier threads, which is more than a bit annoying.

Re: can sumwane get jaws 17 link up dat for me?
did you reply to my message about plugins by mistake? you could have just generated a new message if this is a different topic. my current jaws license only made me eligible for jaws 13 or earlier.
