I have JAWS set on Intermediate. I wonder if setting it on beginning would
make the Alt say Alt. Mine does not say Alt. I am sure that it would not on
advanced either.

This is interesting, mine has never announced the alt key and as Adrian says I have done nothing to set it that way. I do use eloquence.

I asked the same question on the other jaws list and I was informed that you
couldn't silence that key.
You can try and be stubborn like me lol.
It's under setting center/manage keylabels.Don't look

Applications key, then arrow to sort, press enter and make your selection. That's how it is in most lists anyway. I haven't done it in documents.
