Re: Research It and NFL NCAA scores
Hi Chris,
I'm quite familiar with the quick navigation keys and use them all the time. My question was really about those desktop gadgets; I understand that they can get you weather info, sports, news

I must add that I share your frustration. It would be nice if we could visually skim a screen of information, using nothing more than its layout to help us find what we are looking for. That would be

Re: Why do people have so many problems unsubscribing on this list?
Nononono, what we definitely do not need is more hand holding!
Give people a single keystroke, and then it'll be "but my keyboard is different. where do I find this keystroke?"

Re: Research It and NFL NCAA scores
Well, what functions do we have to help us skim through web pages? I'm thinking of things like the quick keys to jump by heading,, list, etc. that might help.
The find command seems appropriate here

Re: Why do people have so many problems unsubscribing on this list?
Yeah, it doesn't say much for us as a group, does it? *LOL*
I'm on several lists containing mostly sighted people, and far more of them - many thousands in fact. And this never ever comes up!

Brandon, sorry but your unsubscribe key command idea is rediculous. I hope you were kidding! *LOL* If that was your intent, great; really funny post! While we're at it, let's add a function that,

Re: Jaws 13 out next week with ocr
Oh,
Not special. The Cobra screenreader has it already for 1,5 years.
Basicly the screenreader has to include it as a childprogram or submodule, so every screenreader can have it.
My humble

Re: Why do people have so many problems unsubscribing on this list?
hi brandon:
since this is a jaws list, of course some people may have problems unsubbing with jaws.
but dave is right.
james should put a footer at the bottom for unsubbing.
that would make a lot

Because Jaws users are the only ones who have the problem. I don't see the same problems with sighted people, users of Window Eyes, NVDA or even the silly screen readers Google and Microsoft try to

Re: Why do people have so many problems unsubscribing on this list?
Again Brandon, I fail to see your logic: Why would FS care at all that JAWS
users are not capable of unsubscribing from a list that FS has nothing to do
with?
Take a deep breath, and think about

John,
Where on the FS site is the demonstration? Sounds like it may be on-screen OCR that will enable the user to work with programs that have graphical text on buttons and other controls. I think

Re: Jaws 13 out next week
I'm totally serious, at least that's what the JAWS site says. It works with graphical text and they used a setup file to demonstrate it. I'm trying to find out more, but there isn't much info about it

Hi,
Are you pulling my leg?JAWS 13 will have OCR function? Really? How extensive will this functionality be, and what's to become of Open Book, then?

Hi,
Ah yes, I forgot about good old tell-me, though it, too has its occasional quirks. For a while there I would call in for a baseball score and it would say that the score for a game was 0 to 0
