I doubt that key echo is the problem here. Yes I can use the say line
command but that is not really a solution. Maybe under key lables?

This may not be exactly the same thing, but some times when JAWS and IE don't play nicely together, I press the insert f10 for the open windows list, down arrow to the open IE tab and press enter.

I suspect what is described is due to key echo settings, that typing
echo is set to either characters or characters and words. Without
changing that I doubt this behavior is going to change.

This is the correct key combination. Remember that Webvisum works only in Firefox. You might confirm that Webvisum really is installed by going into tools with alt-t and arrowing up.

CTRL 9 goes to the last focused tab, and if you closed a tab by accident, press CTRL shift t and the tab will reappear.,
CTRL 1 through 8 is supposed to cycle you through the different tabs you have
