Yes, I usually keep the display set to simple, but I do go and change it to
screen layout when there's tabular information that would make more sense to
show row-by-row. I didn't know

I just checked, and this is not the default setting for Firefox. Why do you prefer screen over simple? FS's description seems to make "simple" easier for a screenreader user, so I'm curious.

Try going to tools in the menus and click on Delete history. Tab through the controls until you reach download history link and enter. This may assist you.
