Running Jaws / Windows on a Macbook Pro
Hi,
I know it is possible to run Windows using a program called Parallels on the
Mac - my wife has it working on her Imac - she is sighted though so doesn't
have to worry about Jaws.

Adrian I am one of the lucky ones as well, but I have not been able to get
mine to work with windows 7 64 computer. Right after 7 came out I read that
one person got a USB or cearal adaptor to work.

Wel, isn't it just the DecTalk USB the normal one that they stil make?

I assume you're referring to the DECtalk USB site. DECtalk Express is no
longer manufactured, and I'm one of the few lucky people who still has one.

I think I recall seeing or hearing that. This may be why Access 2007began working again in 13, as Carson and others pinpointed video handling as the culprit.

I saw on the DecTalk site that they claim it should work, con't you
get a unit for testing, if not then you should contact them for
confirmation.

That's interesting. I know Windows 8 is radically different and that JAWS (and all screen readers) "hook" into the operating system much differently than before, but I had not heard that the "hook"

what i do is create a system restore point and if the update fries everything i just do a system restore and all is well.
