Right, but it doesn't matter why an item doesn't (or a few items don't) work nearly as much as what can happen if you do try and use problematic software. That's sort of my entire point. If everyone

Richard,
Any BlueTooth dongle should work just fine.

Re: What gives with disabled keystrokes
Ed, others have suggested ways to solve the problem. In case it hasn't
occurred to you, you could confirm that these keystrokes are supposed to
work on your system by going into key identification

Re: What gives with disabled keystrokes
Ed,
Sounds to me like you have some idea here. It is not a problem with Jaws and Win 7 computers, at least my wife's Win7 HP with Jaws 12 works fine. The dictionary works; as does the process list

Really?
Personally, I love the increased power and flexibility of 64-bit applications, the increased stability, tighter security...

Re: What gives with disabled keystrokes
Considering both keystrokes you mentioned work just fine here, and I'm
running latest JAWS on Windows 7, I'd say it's definitely something in your
environment at work. Go corporate IT folks!

Have you tried unloading and relaunching JAWS?
If you did that and nothing changed, try restarting Windows.

I'm not sure why Insert+F10 is not working for you. I am using JFW 12.0.1169 on my Windows 7 Home Premium system, and this command brings up the Window List Dialog with a Running Applications

What gives with disabled keystrokes
OK.
I just wrote about the disappearance of the Jaws Task Manager, formerly enabled with Jaws key (Insert) plus F-10.
Now, the keystroke for starting the Jaws dictionary has disappeared.

Jaws Task Manager
All:
With JAWS 12 and the Jaws task manager, has anyone noticed that it has gone missing?
Insert plus F-10, which is the proper command (verified in keyboard help) -- no longer brings up the JAWS
