in my case, any screen reader has the same results.
If I am able to paste something created outside of the browser, such as in
a text editor, it works fine.

Stopping JAWS from saying Window shortcut keys?
When pressing Window short cut keys, like Windows + t or Windows + b, JAWS says the keystroke. I find it extraneous verbiage because I know the keys I pressed.
JAWS doesn't do that with all Windows

When you have JAWS set to use the Laptop Keyboartd Layout, you need to press the CAPS LOCK KEY twice quickly, in order for the CAPS LOCK KEY, to perform its function.

I have tried a number of way to stop it from checking or notifying me about updates, but so far nothing has worked, the only thing I've been able to do is to turn off automatic updates.

I know that in browsers, when an update message occurs, F6 will get me to
it, I may have to F6 more than once.
I've never tried it in T-bird, I think I turned off updates in that program.

OK, just now I got an alert to update Thunderbird, all I got was "alert", then nothing more about the alert, so I used speach history to read the whole message and got what keys to hit for each
