I just turned it off. Just seemed like another attempt by microsoft to micro-manage (hah) your computing experience. Perhaps it's more fair to say, an assumption that most users don't know

There is no default log off sound for Windows 10 or 11 as there was in Windows 7 and earlier. Don't even try to hack the registry or follow some convoluted series of instructions

Simply search in the Start Menu for Touch. Touch Pad Settings pops up. Press Enter on that. You should be on a button which says Touch Pad On. Press Space to turn it off. Simple as

I don’t believe there is a turn off mouse function, but there is one which can be used to turn off the touchpad which usually sits in front of a laptop’s keyboard.
