I hit Enter.  I guess it depends on what you are trying to do. I use the Touch cursor in an application to get to some buttons that the PC cursor cannot reach. Once I turn on Touch cursor, I hit page up to move  to  Form Controls. Then as I  up and down arrow in the screen, the touch cursor is moving between the available form controls.  Once I hear the one I want, I hit Enter and it activates the button.

The best way to disable the touch cursor when you no longer need it is to press the PC Cursor key two times, which is the numpad plus key when using the desktop layout.

I find myself confused. Shift Enter is not the keystroke to turn on the JAWS Touch Cursor. If, however, you mean Shift plus Numpad Plus, that is the JAWS touch cursor. To turn it off, double tap the plus key on the number pad.

But when some folks say Jaws, they mean insert, and caps lock if Jaws is in laptop layout.

Here’s a non-techy understanding. You’re probably familiar with the F5 refresh process. The JAWS insert-escape command refreshes a screen in the sense that JAWS catches up with what is displayed on the screen. Often when JAWS can’t find something on a webpage that you’d expect to find there, insert-escape will enable JAWS to find it. I use the command many times daily.

Hi list,

I would appreciate if someone would tell me whether JAWS is accessible with Zoom as an interpreter.

A few months ago, I went through a frustrating experience, as JAWS would not speak the language channel, and I ended up interpreting on the wrong one.

I am using the latest JAWS version.

Best wishes,

I am using JFW 2022 and windows 11.  Sometime when I put my computer on sleep mode, when I come back, I can’t get JFW to speak.  I turn on the touch cursor with shift enter.  I can find sign in with that cursor, but cannot succeed when trying to make it do anything and find it hard to get back out of the touch curson mode.  Anyone have suggestions as to how to make this work?

Thanks for any help.

The thing is, I have never had a problem with Jaws finding something on a refreshed page.
But on web pages, I just use control F, not insert control F and that works well.
I only use insert with it when I'm searching through an eMail message, because obviously, control F typically would forward the message.

I was just introduced to Insert + Escape.  This does the following:

Repaints all currently displayed items on the screen.

However, I don't understand the sort of scenarios where I would use this. Can someone describe them?

there used to be a version of dictation bridge for jaws that I think allowed such things but I am not sure if it is actively maintained.
