Good morning Van Lant I’m sorry for taking this long too thank you for your message regarding my zoom question, But reason for asking about that zoom issue, is because of the following. It seems that sometimes when I use the say all feature with a few versions of jaws, some words on a line of an open message that I’m reading, some words on a line text will skip, and then I will need too close that message and go back into that message, and read it over again. I do have my outlook maximized and do use the windows up arrow, but it still happens on occasion. Is their a way, that I can set my screen too a full screen mode using the latest version of Jaws and if so, might that correct this sometimes ongoing problem? From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Van Lant, Robin via groups.io
Albert, The more I look at this, the more I don’t think the zoom level will matter to you. When I’m in my inbox, I’m now hearing my zoom level is set to 10%, too. Since I have enough vision to see the screen a bit, I can tell you that the print is not microscopic and I really cannot tell the difference. Yesterday my zoom said it was 90% and it doesn’t look any different today. If you want, you can remove this item from what JAWS reads you in the status line. Use F6 to go to the status line, then hit the application key and arrow down to uncheck the Zoom level and Zoom slider from the status line.

Good evening everyone,
Is their a way that the zoom in outlook with office 365 can be adjusted so that it says, zoom 100 percent? I’m asking because, mine says zoom 10 percent. Should it be set too 100 percent and if so, what’s the keystroke too adjust it?
Thanks in advance for any and all help,
Al

With Jaws a person pays for the user quality this is why the screen reader costs $1200. On the other hand with NVDA, a user doesn't have to pay anything because the application is open sourced. Freedom scientific have more money to make Jaws user friendly because they have the money and resource to do so. On the other hand, NVACCESS rely on donation and user contribution unorder to keep the project going.

Hi,
Check the Microsoft Accessibility / Teams page at:
Freedom Scientific has done a Webinar Training on using Microsoft Teams. You can find the archeive at:
https://www.freedomscientific.com/webinars/microsoft-teams-and-jaws-beyond-the-basics/
https://www.freedomscientific.com/webinars/microsoft-teams-and-jaws/
The last place I would recommend is Hartgen Consultancy. Brian has done a webinar that is available for purchase along with scripts that he has developed. There is a charge for the webinar recordings and scripts. You can find them Here:
There is amailing list of blind users using MS Teams and you can find it at groups.io by doing a search.

mymathlab.com?
Marlo Green
Greetings to Al!
Does anyone have any experience with mymathlab.com? I am having a few challenges such as writing superscripts and reading to interpret questions that are charts which are very visual. I tried to navigate these using my braille display and no luck there, still not written in an organized way to be read correctly on top of the arrows which point to this number or that one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Punctuation within links during Say All.

Thanks! I’ll see if that is the issue. As far as the St. Louis… It is the same link that reads Saint Louis with down arrow, but Street Louis with Say All.

A few thoughts.
When a comma or other punctuation follows a link, I believe JAWS sees it as if it were a comma following a space. In “some” punctuation, which is my standard setting, a comma will be read if it’s isolated from the word preceding it.
The same probably applies to closing quotation marks.
I can’t explain the St. Louis issue, unless it happens when what you encountered while reading in “say all” was St without a period.
From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Dennis Brown
Yest, it’s been doing this for a while, but I’m not sure which build it started in. And I have punctuation set to none on global and Say All punctuation settings.

This is incorrect. I have had no issues with either screen reader on Windows 10 or 11 on this computer. The Windows 11 is actually faster in both cases, though JAWS is predictably more resource intensive than NVDA.

Punctuation within links during Say All.
Dennis Brown
Is anyone having JAWS announcing punctuation within link text when using Say All? If I read a document with several links separated by a comma, the comma gets read, as well as quotes, periods, etc. The Say All punctuation setting is set to none, as well as the global punctuation. Also, if I read a link with down arrow, or Say Line, the dictionary file for that application is processed, but in Say All, it isn’t. For instance, if I read St. Louis, it reads as Street Louis, instead of Saint Louis, if I’m reading with Say All. Using latest build of JAWS 2022 on Windows 11. Anyone experiencing this? Thanks, Dennis

Hm. Maybe try win-archiver. I know it can create iso images so I’d *think* you can use it to modify those archives as well.

Hello All, I need to edit an ISO of a windows install DVD, and I'm wondering about software for this. I found on-line that a program called "anyburn" works for this. Does anyone know of any other free software packages for this? I can open and extract files from an ISO image with 7Zip, but I haven't found a way to save anything to the image with 7Zip. Thanks much.
