Good afternoon all,

I’m purchasing a new laptop for a friend who has limited computer  knowledge and I need to know if the latest version of Jaws and windows 11 are 100% compatible? If they’re not, how steep is the learning curve?

Thank you,

I'm using jaws 2021 and windows 10.

I am trying to update club deck on my pc and keep getting an error.

How do I do this?

The error is really complicated and not very easy to paste.

            Hello All,

I need to edit an ISO of a windows install DVD, and I'm wondering about software for this.

I found on-line that a program called "anyburn" works for this.

Does anyone know of any other free software packages for this?

I can open and extract files from an ISO image with 7Zip, but I haven't found a way to save anything to the image with 7Zip.

Thanks much.

There's a shortcut to open search edit box using the'/'  key when in focus mode just in case, please do check if that works.

I’m wondering if you change the View to single page under the view menu would that make a difference?

Another way and I don’t know if it will place you on the specific page you want in the pdf is to use the JAWS Layered Command, Insert + Spacebar + O + D and at the end of the conversion save it to Word.

This is just a suggestion.

Hi,

There's probably an obvious solution to this, but I'm not finding it!

Here's an example:

I'm on page 1 of a pdf.

I use CTRL+Shift+N to go to another page, for example, page 40.

The popup appears and I enter page 40 in it.

When I click Okay, I am taken to page 40.

However, when I hit INSERT+Down Arrow or the Down Arrow on page 40,

JAWS jumps back to page 1 and reads that instead.

This is happening in all pdf's and the page numbers above are an example. If I started on page 40 and wanted to go to page 80, JAWS would return to page 40.

How do I get JAWS to read the page I want?

I can confirm that this is a problem of late. This feature used to work, but at some point, it all failed in terms of jumping quickly from one page to another in Acrobat Reader DC.

Sometimes, in desperation, I will copy the entire thing into Word.

Absolutely correct.  I was willing to assume we were not talking about the media libraries, which do have formats specific to the media type.  Even Photos display as thumbnails by default, though if you change them to details view you do get the size shown.

Windows does a good job as far as "presenting what most would want to know" based on what library a given thing is stored in.  Otherwise, it uses the folder settings for documents or general items.

If you open the Properties for a given folder (or library) and look at the Customize tab the first item is the "What kind of folder do you want?" dropdown which shows the various options for presentation.  Were you to want to change media files to "show like regular" you would change from audio/video to general or documents.

Hi all,

I should add that if you are in a folder with primarily audio files like music, size is not part of the details view default for individual files. Things like artist, etc. will appear. You will need to change this in the add columns part of the View tab of the ribbon, assuming you are using Windows 10. In Windows 11, I assume it is in the View submenu or whatever they call it there. Again as Brian says, a bit complicated to change this.

Albert,

The more I look at this, the more I don’t think the zoom level will matter to you.  When I’m in my inbox, I’m now hearing my zoom level is set to 10%, too.  Since I have enough vision to see the screen a bit, I can tell you that the print is not microscopic and I really cannot tell the difference.  Yesterday my zoom said it was 90% and it doesn’t look any different today.  If you want, you can remove this item from what JAWS reads you in the status line.  Use F6 to go to the status line, then hit the application key and arrow down to uncheck the Zoom level and Zoom slider from the status line.

Good evening everyone,

Is their a way that the zoom in outlook with office 365 can be adjusted so that it says, zoom 100 percent?  I’m asking because, mine says zoom 10 percent. Should it  be set too 100 percent and if so, what’s the keystroke too adjust it?

Thanks in advance for any and all help,

Indeed, but that's not the default state, and I'd presume that someone would know if they've removed it, as it's not a simple matter to do (as it's the reverse of your instructions to add it back in).

Thanks for the instructions, though, they're useful for tweaking of whatever column or columns you want to show/hide.  And Size is indeed just Size.

Hi.

The file size won’t show up in details view if it was removed from one of the columns in the sort options.

To check to see if it’s checked, in a folder in File explorer, have nothing selected.

Hit either SHIFT+F10 or the applications key.

Find the sort option in the menu, and select it.

Now go down the list of what’s available to sort by, and see if size is there. If not, select the More option.

Now, hit TAB to get to the items that can be checked. First letter navigation works here, so either look for Size, which I think it is, or File Size if it’s not, and check it.

If you want to put it in another column than the last one, you can do this in the above dialogue.

Once done, TAB to OK, and press ENTER.

If all goes well, the size of items will be there.

Hope this is helpful.
