Hi Bill,

I pasted a couple of browser desktop shortcuts into the send to menu to try out the process but no, it does not work which I suspected may be the case with browsers. However, in the past I have pasted numerous shortcut icons, like text editors etc,  into the send to menu and they work perfectly.

In case anyone is interested, to paste a shortcut icon into the send to menu, do the following.

Hi, Tom. Where is this "Sent to Browser" command with SHIFT plus F10? I have a "Send To" command, but nowhere in that selection list does it give me an opportunity to send the URL to a browser? Where did you encounter this?

i.e.  Sometimes a site may work better using Firefox rather than Edge while another may function better in another browser altogether.

Hi, Tom. As Curtis says, you can copy the URL to the clipboard and use the Run command, or you can do what I do.

 

1. Arrow to the Internet shortcut, but do not press ENTER.

2. Press ALT plus ENTER for Properties.

3. Once Properties opens for the shortcut, the URL is the first thing you will see. Copy this to the clipboard.

4. Open the browser you want to use to get to the URL.

5. Press CONTROL plus L to open the Address Bar.

6. Paste the URL from the clipboard into the Address Bar, and press ENTER.

 

Now the URL will open in whichever browser you opened.

Hi howard.

I opened the cell using the f2 key and again it says edit.

Using the left or right arrow keys does nothing.

 If i press the home key, then press the number 5 key it says the first letter but if I press the number 6 key to go to next letter....nothing.

Any other thoughts.

A while back there was a tip about going into options, into advanced andturn off allow editing in cells which I did do.

Should I then go back into settings and make it allow changes?

Evening all.

Using  Excel 2007, Jaws 2022, Windows 10.

I go into excel document, go into cell, and want to edit a certain letter in that cell.

I press the f2 key and it say edit.

All is good.

 I press the home key to get to front of text and using the number pad it says...what ever key is there.

Now the issue. How in the heck do I get to the letter I want to change??

I press the f6 key to go next letter and nothing happens. So, how do I get to whatever letter I want to change, edit, and then edit it??

I am really lost on this one.

Remember, Excel for dummies.

I checked, Bill, and yeah, some sounds are listed there. Thank you. But in the case of the beep where the caps lock is on, then typing shift + letter, that beep only happens when JAWS is on. Is there also a list of what these JAWS sounds mean?

Can anyone explain what the various sound indicators mean in JAWS?  For example, when I am typing and have the caps key on without knowing, and then I press shift and a letter, I notice JAWS beeps. I believe there's also some kind of chime sound to mean some kind of error or that it finds nothing. I haven't found any documentation that explains what these sound indicators mean so I'm kind of guessing.
