I hope the original questioner will answer my question about this. Sleep problems are Windows-based (or hardware based) and often require several iterations of Q & A before the likely root cause (and, of course, fix) becomes clear. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. You can dop this with Balabolka There is also a console version called Balabolka text and I am using this tool to convert Word documents or pdf files to text, but epub is also supported., I hgave created a batchfile myself to convert things in a batch, so if you want this tool, let me know. If you want to download Balabolka yourself: http://www.cross-plus-a.com/balabolka.htm Kind regards, Marten

Hi, Unless I’m wrong there is no connection between JAWS and when your computer sleeps. The setting in System settings controls when the computer sleeps and is different when plugged in or on battery. I have experienced this situation after a system update. That was only one time and other updates did not affect the computer in this way. Did you recently get a Windows update or otherwise update your system ? May want to talk with Microsoft Disability desk if no solution.

Hello Listers,
With JAWS version 2022.21124, my computer won’t automatically go to sleep when I haven’t accessed it within the Windows 10 and JAWS sleep intervals (I have both set for 10 minutes). This sleep mode worked in JAWS 2021 and previous versions.
To avoid confusion, I’m not referring to manually going to the Settings menu and putting JAWS to sleep for certain applications, such as Open Book, which has its own speech feature. I’m talking about the sleep that comes up when you bring up the commands to either sleep, shutdown, restart, etc.
How can I set JAWS 2022 to make my computer automatically go to sleep like Version 2021 and previous ones do?

I have just tried it and although it is not perfect in screenreader interaction I nevertheless have just succeeded in converting a load of ePub chapters and word documents into text files. So it is usable at least with a screenreader, and may become very useful as I get more used to using it The main adjustment is that you have to tab into and out of and then back into the combo boxes with NVDA if you want to hear any change you have set in the conversion format. I also ended up converting a lot more documents than I intended as the folder selection process will take some getting used to. Despite all this it worked so thanks for pointing me to the tool.

Interesting spin to this computer going to sleep business. I am using windows 11 and when my computer goes to sleep, I have issues getting it to wake up under jaws 2022. Just throwing that out since we’re discussing sleeping issues. Any ideas? Final note; when I am ready to wake the computer up, jaws does not see the resume button, it only sees the lock button. It also likes to rotate through the area where it discusses the different pictures the computer is willing to put on your screen. So, something else to ponder. Thanks!

You should send diagnostics to Freedom Scientific and open a

Thanks; however I care more about an answer to my second message about whether or not my account would still be locked after resetting my password and if so whether or not there's another easy way to unlock it since it's rather difficult to use the Outlook.com webmail interface so I can't get to the message that's telling me to sign in to my account. I would've started a new topic, but I can't find the new topic link; I used to be able too, but it seems like the layout of the site has changed in the last couple of days. Sorry, I'm getting off-topic.

Okay, so if I'm able to get it setup then I won't have to do anything within Outlook in order for it to work in Outlook? Also after re-setting my password I just tried again and I was able to get to the screen where it tries to send a test message but I got a message saying that an unknown error occured and the error code was 0xc8101 Any idea what could be wrong and what I might be able to do to fix it?

This formula says if cell b3 is blank, then make this cell blank also. But if b3 is not blank, then do your if statement. =IF(b3="","",IF(B3=C3,B3+1,"0")) Hope this helps. Let me know if you have questions. Chris
