Re: Jaws2021 ctrl + m and f9 download email
Steve Nutt
Hi,
F9 probably is working, but it may be downloading so quickly that JAWS doesn’t have time to display a percentage.
When you first open Outlook, that is its first connection to your Email server, so it does a thorough check of all your mailboxes.

Hi Steve So Can you explained to me whenever I open the microsoft office outlook2007 email then I always press ctrl + m then jaws say cancel then say the download percentage like 0% 10% 55% and 100% then it take me on the unread email and that also when I press f9 key too. So if you want download all the email in your inbox folder ,What you do to do that? Do you press f9 key or what?I stilled can’t get f9 work and ctrl + m won’t works either !! Addison

No, CTRL M is to refresh your mailboxes, so this is the correct key. It both sends and delivers.

Hi.
I remember when I was using pop3 for my email, when I hit CTRL+M to send and receive email, I’d get the percentage. I now use Exchange for my email, and CTRL+M doesn’t do anything, because the email is constantly updated. I don’t know what imap does.
Just a thought.

Hi, Glenn. Just to be completely exhaustive, you might want to actually reboot the computer, and bring up Thunderbird again after reboot to see if it still exhibits the same behavior with regard to the zero before the emails.

You said in your email, " …wondering if I can take for granted that what's in the Windows store is JFW/screen reader friendly." Regrettably, the opposite is more likely to be true. I say this after years of painful experience with third party software. If any of us finds something from the Microsoft Store that truly works, we are, may I say, ecstatic<smile>. New Training Course From Hartgen Consultancy: New Training Course. Jaw Muscles: A Guide to Increased Productivity Using JAWS for Windows.
Curtis Chong
Greetings everyone:
I highly recommend the below course for people using JAWS who need or want to improve their proficiency and efficiency with this screen reading program. I have found Hartgen Consultancy to be an excellent company to work with.
Warmly,
Curtis Chong

New Training Course. Jaw Muscles: A Guide to Increased Productivity Using JAWS for Windows.Submitted by Brian Hartgen on Mon, 01/03/2022 - 14:03 Introduction.People often want to be more efficient when using the JAWS screen-reader. Particularly when in the workplace, this is especially important as they want to be able to demonstrate they can carry out tasks at a similar speed to their sighted colleagues. But it could also be helpful for people within education or within leisure pursuits. In our experience, many people claim to be efficient screen-reader users. It transpires however that what they mean by that is that they've increased the speech rate significantly. While this is helpful, they are not familiar with the many shortcut keys and facilities built into JAWS to increase productivity. Our new training course will not only give you lots of shortcut keys to aid efficiency, but it will also show you the best ways to find what you are looking for, and demonstrate many JAWS gems with which you may not be familiar. What Kinds of Topics Will Be Covered? This training course, Jaw Muscles, does not focus upon using JAWS with a specific application. You'll find that you'll learn tips and tricks for working in documents, browsing the web with any browser, using workbooks in Excel or Google Sheets, managing Email and even using sites such as YouTube. In short, you'll gain a vast amount of knowledge concerning all manner of ways to make you more efficient within a variety of computing settings. For example:
There are so many tools and utilities hidden inside JAWS to improve efficiency. It's just a question of finding them. Who Is The Course For?This training course is certainly for JAWS users who wish to improve their screen-reading skills. But it is also for trainers of Assistive Technology. We've seen many instances where people are trained to use the Microsoft application shortcut keys, and this is all very fine. But as trainers, we would suggest it is our duty to teach people about the added JAWS benefits provided by other keystrokes. If we can avoid unwanted key presses, not only does it make someone more efficient at using a computer but it also avoids the onset of conditions such as repetitive strain injury. All the unnecessary key presses a person has to do add up over the course of a day. This training course is suited to anyone using recent releases of JAWS or ZoomText Fusion. As will be seen below, the training course is provided in both audio and text formats so is ideal for anyone who is unable to hear audio content or for quick reference. Course Structure. The training course will run for eight weeks. For seven out of the eight weeks, you will receive an audio file and text transcript to download which is the lesson for that week. The running time of each file will be at least 30 minutes, and will focus upon a specific subject, such as tips and tricks for using web browsers. There will also be a lesson held using the Zoom conferencing platform for one week, in order that people can share their strategies and shortcuts for working with JAWS. Finally, you will be part of an Email list, again to share ideas, tips and tricks. Audio files and text transcripts are downloaded from a secure area of our website. Course Delivery.Jaw Muscles will commence week beginning Monday 14 February 2022 and weekly thereafter. The cost of the course is £50 which is currently 68 US dollars. While it is by no means a requirement for course participation, we are offering an additional package if you do not have our Leasey product. One of the main advantages of Leasey is to add even more productivity tools to those already available within JAWS and this year, we intend to add even more of these. JAW Muscles with Leasey is available at a substantially reduced rate for a combined total of £80 which is approximately $108 US. Alternatively, anyone can purchase either package by sending an Email to jaws@..., whereupon a fully accessible electronic invoice will be sent to you which can be paid through PayPal or any major credit or debit card. Summary. While many people can use computing applications with the keyboard at a basic level, we want to lick your screen-reading skills into shape. We'll show you plenty of strategies you probably didn't know about. Once you've completed our new training course, you will be able to show everyone your screen-reading muscles!

Re: how to bring back hidden folders in outlook
Curtis Chong
Hello:
In Deb’s particular situation, it was the Favorites view that was on, and it needed to be switched to the folders view. In the View tab of the Outlook ribbon, there is a pull-down to set the favorites view, the folders view, or both. You can reach this area by pressing Alt, v, then f one after the other. CTRL+6 is the keyboard command in Outlook which, when pressed, will Switch the focus to the Folder list in the Folder pane. Kindly,

Hello,
It almost sounds like you are only seeing folders in your favorites section. In newer versions of Outlook, there is a favorites tree that usually has Inboxe, and 1 or two other folders. Then below this, there is a more hierarchical folder list with each account at the top level and an alphabetical list of all folders under that which can be collapsed and expanded with left/right arrow keys. As far as I know there is no distinct advantage to the favorites area unlike in MacOS, where command-1 brings you to the first item in the favorites and command-2 brings you to the second one. If anybody can find an equivalent in JAWS or Outlook, that would be of interest. Jonathan

Hi, I have encountered this situation before and it usually comes down to a security setting for the outgoing mail or something being incompatible with the web mail server. From my experience it is fixable but takes a little bit of looking and searching and sometime comparing settings with other accounts.

You really have only one choice and that is the Perkins Braille Writer. I don’t think you are looking for the electric one.
You can find brand new ones at Perkins Store. Price is around $900.00
Here is the web URL to the Perkins Store for Braille Writers: https://brailler.perkins.org/pages/perkins-brailler
You can find people selling secondhand Perkins Braillers ranging in price from around $250.00 and I have seen some going for as high as $400.00. Ads are usually found on blindads a listserv found on groups.io, and you can find ads in the Braille Forum from the American Council of the Blind and the Braille Monitor from the National Federation of the Blind.

Hello Ralph, well I think that this method is so hard. Because you have to build in localhost, with Apache and MySql running in local machine and other things... so if you really want to do, you should setup all necessary ambient by yourself. When you try to learn Wordpress since an hosting, alot of things are right ready to go.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Now I want to explain something, with a full cms like Wordpress, you can build whichever site you imagine. Blogs, social networks, forums, portals, stores and much much more kind of websites. So you oviously need to think about your first site, what do you want to build? Mavy a store, or a simple blog. So when you build your first blog, you can advance with another type of site, may a store. So if you say you want to start to build a blog, we can recommend certain tools and methods to setup Wordpress to build this first blog. If you say you want to launch a store, we can do the same... so, you need to be sure what you want to build right now. Cheers!
