I got to wondering, what are the differences and similarities between
Outlook and Thunderbird in terms of keystrokes, using them with Jaws etc.? I

Hello,
I typically don’t find myself using a laptopwith a numpad, or using a numpad in general. There have been a few times where I wished I had a numpad, but again, that’s few and far between. Currently, I use a mac, so I don’t have a numpad regardless, and my previous windows machines never had numpads on them. I still need to get slightly better at using the number row, since I’m still very slow with it, but still, all things considered, they’re usually not needed. I’ve always preferred laptop layouts, no matter which screen reader I used.

There are certainly cases in which it is warranted, and for that I would simply get a USB numpad which by all accounts would work far nicer and alleviate the need to look for a laptop with one.

I use a separate keyboard for my Lenovo.  When I called JFW to ask how to use jaws without a numpad, the technical person I talked with told me to get an external keyboard with numpad on it...Easy peasy ever since.

There’s actually quite a few too. Another one is WordPress: The Missing Manual by Daniel MacDonald. Unfortunately, Bookshare are completely out of date with it, so I had to buy the latest edition on Kindle.

In attempts to repopulate my punctuation list, I've deleted all .sibil files, renamed my Settings directory and started from scratch, uninstalled and reinstalled JAWS. The only time when my punctuation list reaches 194 entries is when I delete/rename my settings directory and start over. That only lasts until I restart JAWS; then, the list returns to only 72 items.
Can any of you fantastic folks check your punctuation lists to see if they contain 72 or 194 entries? Then, if anyone's list indeed contains 194 entries for different symbols, how can I match that?

This sounds like it may be unique to your environment.
I do not have the shipment tab in my environment.
I also use the lightning interface.

Your company may have customized the interface, and only Jaws  support or salesforce support will be able to help moving forward.

I'm working with Salesforce – the lightening version, with JAWS or NVDA.

 

I don't know why, but on certain tabs on salesforce itself, when I'm pressing "close tab" button, the browser crushing and not responding. Without screen reader it's not happening, according to sighted assistance.

We checked on my personal laptop, and on my organization laptop. We checked with Brave, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge – same result.

Hi there, when I ran the update this morning, jaws announced update complete, I clicked okay, and it said or rather a dialogue box popped up and jaws announced you must restart your computer for changes to take place. I clicked restart now. It asked me if I rather windows asked me if I want to allow changes to take place I clicked yes. But now every time I restart the computer I get that dialogue

It's don’t relayte to jaws 17, but I suggest you to upgrade to 2022.

 

Did you try to go to your user accunt control and change your settings there?

 

Is it organization desktop?

I may be grasping at straws but the fact that I have jaws 17 installed on my computer as well would that be the problem? The dialogue box says

user account control

do you want to allow this  app to make changes to your device?  Application file Jaws verified publisher  Freedom Scientific Inc

File origin: hard drive on this computer show more details and then the yes button and the no button

Hi there, when I ran the update this morning, jaws announced update complete, I clicked okay, and it said or rather a dialogue box popped up and jaws announced you must restart your computer for changes to take place. I clicked restart now. It asked me if I rather windows asked me if I want to allow changes to take place I clicked yes. But now every time I restart the computer I get that dialogue

Hello everybody I hope you can help me, and of course I hope everybody is

I am running the latest version of jaws  on a Windows 10 computer.

I haven’t used jaws in a while so please bear with me, I may need

step-by-step instructions.

I went into the basics menu and I clicked on jaws start up, I think that’s

what it was called. Then I checked the boxes for logging on at the login

screen, and the check box for logon after login ,and I set the combo box to

always. I click okay but when I restart my computer I hear jaws speaking at

the logon screen, I type in my password,  and I am taken to my desktop, at

this point there is no speech, then my desktop disappears, and a dialogue

box appears saying that this program wants to make changes to your computer

et cetera et cetera et cetera or at least something to that effect. there is

a yes button and no button and a cancel button ,I click alt why because I’ve

been told what’s on the screen by a sighted person  and then it goes to my

desktop and jaws start sspeaking.  how can I get rid of this dialogue box

appearing?
