Question regarding a read only message when I open a message that I want too read.
Albert Cutolo
Good morning everyone,
I am writing about an annoying issue which happens whenever I open a message with outlook, using the latest version of jaws2022, and windows 10. When I find a message that is in my inbox that I want too read, I press the enter key too open it, and get this stupid message that says, read only. When this happens, sometimes it says space, and then I have too arrow down through the message in order too finish reading. And sometimes, it will read down through the message. I hope that this issue will be addressed in the next jaws update and freedom scientific technical support is aware of this ongoing issue that many of us are facing.
If anyone has any fixes that can make this annoying issue disappear, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Al

Same situation here. Any help for both of us would be appreciated. As for me, I suppose it depends on the fact that i use the german version of jaws. Are you also using a non-english jaws? If that is the case, I suppose it is a matter of localization (often shortcuts and keystrokes change depending on the language of an application) Thanks in advance, Helmuth Am 15.11.2021 um 14:24 schrieb Rahul Bajaj:

I've had this happen from time to time. I've got Windows 10 with the latest update and JAWS 22. Honestly I just figured I did something to hit the mouse on my laptop. It doesn't bug me enough to search for a solution.

I don't have that issue, but time to upgrade perhaps? JAWS 18 is a bit long in the tooth now.

Hi, Edge will come on your new machine, it is a part of windows. I've never been in the app store so I don't know what it offers. As for the other web browsers you find them on their own web sites. If when you get your machine you let us know which browser your interested in then people will be able to give you the web address to download it from.

How does one get these various browsers? Is it through the App Store, or does one go to a website to download onto one’s computer? Any help in guidance will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Yes. My computer was online. I have Jaws 2020 2021 and 2022. I use the offline file, and the online smaller file. When I write and click and do OCR with jaws it simply says component is not installed. I’ve even turned off all the security through windows firewall etc. Still, component not installed. I also tried repair. On all three. No difference

Hi, Judy. Because your JAWS is set to either Punctuation some, or none, you aren't hearing the period after the plus sign. It's Windows plus the period. You don't use the plus sign.

Hi all, Does anyone know how to insert emogees into email messages using Jaws? I know Jaws reads them and so if possible I'd love to know how to put them into email messages as writing the word smile or whatever feels weird. If sighted people can put them in then there should be a way for blind people to do it too. Using latest versions of Jaws, Office 365 and Windows 10. Hope someone can help, Madison

Haven't really bothered with this (although I don't' really mind inserting the odd one in SMS on my phone) but, you should be able to access the windows emoji keyboard. I believe windows plus . (period) is the keystroke. You should be able to arrow through the lists and categories and select one you want.
