A Tip On JAWS and Outlook
Rick Miller
Dear Listers:
I have just upgraded my computer to Office 365 which has a more modern version of Outlook. I am handling e-mails fairly well, but on the calendar not all of my events, including my meetings, are showing. I read that there is a way to solve this problem by locating the calendar on the navigation bar and then clicking “Dock the peek,” but I do not know how to do this using JAWS. Do any of you out there know, and can one of you please give me some advice?

The JAWS commands you listed, do not
increase/decrease the JAWS or system volume, they take you to 2 windows, where
you can use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW, to raise and lower the JAWS or system
volume. Once you have set either volume to the level you want, you press the ESC
key, to close either window.

You can configure the touchpad gestures to adjust volume

Good morning everyone,
My girlfriend has a Logitech wireless keyboard that she uses with her HP. Laptop computer. However, this particular keyboard, doesn’t have a windows FNE key on it where in order for her too raise the volume, she would have too press both the FNE key and the F7 key too increase the volume level. My question is, is there another key that she can use too substitute for this purpose? She’s using Jaws 2021, and the latest windows 10.
Any and all help and suggestions and advice will be much appreciated,

She can use the Jaws commands:
Jaws Key + Spacebar followed by V and then J - this will raise Jaws volume Jaws Key + Spacebar followed by V and then S - this will raise system volume

Hi,
Has anyone used the Surface Go with JAWS? If so, can you comment on how well it works? We are just starting to look into this as a possible tablet to take with us when traveling for fairly basic tasks and I would appreciate your thoughts on your experience regarding using it with JAWS.
Thanks, Pam

Re: Etiqet: Was RE: downgrading to Windows 10
Laura,
I really don't care how you see me, or anyone else does, either. This is not a popularity contest. I have posted what I posted in topics where the actual violation that triggered the need occurred, as well as stand alone. And the kinds of reactions it gets, including encouraging people to do what they should not be doing, is consistent. And I really don't care whether what I said puts Madison off or not. She's an adult. She needs to know these things. I'm not about to treat everyone here like they are children. It's amusing that when someone, not only me, can cite things like: 25 Forum Posting Etiquette Tips and the other article I referenced, that have been out there for years as guides, get accused of it "just being your opinion." It's not. It never has been. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 It is the function of creative men to perceive the relations between thoughts, or things, or forms of expression that may seem utterly different, and to be able to combine them into some new forms--the power to connect the seemingly unconnected. ~ William Plomer

If it is on different lists, she has done not one thing wrong and I support her asking as many as needed to get the answers sought. Remember, your delete key is, as you all often state, your option. Is a cross is done and yuou seem to be on more than one list, again, hit your delete key. She has done nothing wrong and just because you get a second or a third identical message from all you hold membership within, you are the individual with many memberships, she has not done one thing in error within any one individual group list. Get over it and move on...
From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel
And let's all keep in mind that not everybody is an old hand at using mailing lists. I happen to know that Madison is quite young so instead of criticizing let's tell her that cross-posting or posting the same question on multiple lists at the same time without giving one list a chance to provide answers is considered bad etiquette because many of use are on the Jaws and WinAccess lists she is in any case asking the same people and she may not realize this. We are all here to either educate or be educated and it's always a good idea to give somebody the benefit of the doubt at least until they have really proven they are not able or willing to get it. I think, for example, if somebody had replied explaining how this is considered to be bad list etiquette sending it privately is even a better approach.
