moderated Eclipse IDE with JAWS 2020

Hello,
For my studies I need the program Eclipse, because we program with Java. I have already installed and opened the program. However, I have the following problem: When I created a new project and then create a class in it, I can no longer get out of the code text field. I do get to the menu bar with the Alt key and can also reliably find the elements there, but so far it is not possible for me to navigate out of the text field with F6, for example, and get to the other controls of Eclipse. In addition, many things are not displayed on the braille display, including, for example, the line in the code that I am on as well as errors in the code. Does anyone here perhaps use Eclipse and can give me more detailed information on how best to use it as a JAWS user?

No, you don’t want to get out of the edit field, but pressing escape will make the edit field blank, so long as you don’t up or down arrow again, just type.

I’m using the most recent versions of windows10, Jaws2021 and Google Chrome. For some reason for the last few days I will be on a web site and come across a field I need to enter text. The field already has text in it. I can move up and down and the value changes. The value is not even what I want. I can type over it. I just wonder why this suddenly started and is there a way to turn it off in Google Chrome?

Hi,

 

Couple of things.

 

When the autofill text comes up, just type or paste new text into the edit field, ignoring the auto filled text, and it will go away.

 

Also, press escape and the text won’t be auto completed.

 

I love autofill personally, but I can see it would be annoying for some.

I get stuff like that from ninite.com, they allow you to get a easy accessible installer file, and you can then get itunes. You can get many other tools there as well. Just find itunes in the list, check the box, and then hit the get installer button at the bottom of the page.

You can get iTunes from 2places. First the microsoft store, just search for iTunes and you should find it.
Secondly you can also get iTunes from
https://www.apple.com/itunes/

As for my personal preference, I love to get it from the Microsoft store because I can download a bunch of needed apps in 1 place while setting up my PC.

The quickest and easiest way is to type “iTunes” into google or whatever search engine you prefer

 

Would be your best option

Since it has been mentioned and I needed to get the quick support for teams yesterday to use ARA, does anyone know the subscription address for teams and Ara.  I was trying to unsubscribe from an paid advertiser and there was no way of unsubscribing using VO Thus I had to call Ara, they in turn asked for my ID.  To make long story short, I thought I know there is a group for ARA paid users and wondered if there was such a group for teams as well.  To be honest I never used teams or had to till yesterday, I’ve always used zoom or face time. Now I want the subscription to both groups if at all possible.

Glad to know I’m not alone. NVDA works better with iTunes and I really hope that JAWS could improve somedays.

’I also know that,  at least, for me, JAWS doesn't even say anything when tabbing around. I have iTunes open right now, and I'm sitting on my table of music. The only thing I hear when making my first press of the tab key, all JAWS says is iTunes. I don't hear anything else until I get to the volume settings. I also hear the airplay button when tabbing but nothing else until the edit box  which is one tab down I think from the airplay. In other words, JAWS isn't as smooth with iTunes than it used to ;. However, it was never great with it!

That's why one has a choice, just as with browsers there might be times when NVDA works better for a particular task than Jaws and vice versa.

Also it seems that NVDA navigates more smoothly in iTunes if compared with JAWS. I tried backing up my iPhone using JAWS on iTunes and it is not as smooth tabbing around the menu compared to if using NVDA.

Hello.


That isn't jaws problem to fix.  Alt does not bring up the menu in itunes.  If you want the menu, hold alt and press one of the first letter options like f.  You can then arrow down through the file menu, or arrow over to whatever menu you want.

Since it has been mentioned and I needed to get the quick support for teams yesterday to use ARA, does anyone know the subscription address for teams and Ara.  I was trying to unsubscribe from an paid advertiser and there was no way of unsubscribing using VO Thus I had to call Ara, they in turn asked for my ID.  To make long story short, I thought I know there is a group for ARA paid users and wondered if there was such a group for teams as well.  To be honest I never used teams or had to till yesterday, I’ve always used zoom or face time. Now I want the subscription to both groups if at all possible.
