Hello all,

My company has now switched us to using MS Teams exclusively for inbound and outbound calls. I can answer calls no problem and making calls isn’t hard either. However, once you have made a call, how do you dial numbers to navigate those automated menus most businesses use these days?

Suggestion:

Instead turning off the autofill on the chrome, just start typing the value on the field. When the focus in the field, the filled text will be still selected. This is the default behaviour of the autofill function.

But, if you still want to turn off the autofill, follow the below steps.

  1. Open the settings on the chrome.
  2. Click on search and type the turm autofill.
  3. Wait for the results to be loaded.
  4. By pressing tab key now, you can see few of the links like, passwords, payment methods, and addresses and more.
  5. For instance, if you want to turnoff the address to be filled, just turn off the button which says “ Save and fill addresses Toggle button”

Hi, can you get out of it with esc key? This normally works for me.

Rahul, this is  possible, assuming that you already have the contact info in your gmail address book, write part of the mail address, then tab to "subject field", and then tab back to "to" field, and navigate  by up and down arrows, you will see your contact added.
indeed FS should streamline it better, because possibly Gmail suggests names in basic view but JFW does not probably recognise it well.

I don't think there is necessarily a need for a clean install, you can always do one if you find there are issues, but I would do the in-place upgrade first and if all is well you save yourself a lot of time.

I have received an update notice that Windows 11 is available for my computer, however, I was informed, that the download could not go ahead because, I do not have the necessary function turned on in the BIOS. He seems to think the world will end if he can't run Windows 11. You are of course entirely correct, installing Windows 11 by some sort of hack is probably the worst thing you can do and there is absolutely no reason for it. I still hear of things like File Explorer being fairly sluggish with all screenreaders in Windows 11 and while I am also curious about Windows 11, I am in no particular hurry and have a feeling that once I do maybe install it on the one computer I currently own which says it can run it I will be underwhelmed and find that on a day-to-day bases it will make little difference.

Why would you want to install an unsupported operating system?  My understanding is that if you do, you may not get security updates.  I'd install the latest version of windows 10 and be content, even if you really want 11, you probably don't want it for the first six months, unless you like  using your computer for a door stop instead of a computer.  Leave the first little while to those with spare computers.

Richard, you are correct! Sorry guys, when I went to PBS video every single one I tried to look at said you had to be a member of passport. I’m wondering if the reason I was able to watch Muhammad Ali several weeks ago without getting that message was since it was being broadcast that very weak and hadn’t yet gone onto the list or something? Not sure but sorry I gave misinformation.

Well, all I know is I tried to watch the Ken Burns Baseball and it said I had to have a Passport account…

 

I believe the only way you get a passport account is by being a subscriber to PBS. 

I refuse to give them any money in my area because they still do not provide audio description on many things I know have audio description.

This Fall  they have improved, but not yet enough.

They are there, but you have to have the PBS Passport which you get by donating on a regular basis.

They are there, but you have to have the PBS Passport which you get by donating on a regular basis.

And, I would hope they would include audio description.

Richard, I watched the Mohammed Ali series he did  through the app with no PBS Passport subscription.

Wonder if what you say applies to only certain series?

Do you not have an addressbook? I'm familiar with the Google mail system, and don't usevery it ... sorry about that. However, can't you just select the contact you'd like to message? That's how it works with Outlook.

That being said, I'd rather gnaw off my own fingers than have to reconfigure a Windows system I've been using, and customizing, for years.  It's just so much easier to take a system image, including all user data regardless of what it's drive may have been, to have in my back pocket to restore from.  It usually takes me less than an hour, start to finish, to recover from a system image backup.  It takes a lot longer than that to do a fresh install of Windows and then do all the customizations I can recall that I've done as well as reinstall all the programs.  

And having your user data on a separate drive will do you no good if that drive were to fail.  But I presume you are consistently backing up that drive somehow.

There was a time where I separated user data and Windows on separate drives.  But in this age of huge drives, cheap, I don't.  The probability of any drive failing is about equal, and if you're using an SSD you need to be backing it up even more than an HDD (which should absolutely be backed up routinely, too) because when they fail they are beastly expensive to recover any data from if that's necessary.  With backup drives and/or cloud backup storage being so cheap these days, backing up, whether by system image or otherwise, should be a standard part of computer ownership - at least if you care about your data and never want to lose it.  I can assure anyone who uses a computer that they will, eventually, suffer a drive failure.  It may be only once every 20 years, but if you lose everything you'll regret, bitterly, not having bothered to take backups.
