Cannot find a tab in Google Docs
Adrian Spratt
Hi.
A firm has sent me a Google Docs spreadsheet. I’m told I need to click on the “Targets” tab. My sighted wife can find it, and the information I need is there, but I can’t get to it with JAWS.
FYI, I’m using the Google browser. I have accessibility settings set to screenreader and braille on (although I don’t use braille). I’ve also toggled the Excel commands on. I know the commands for moving from sheet to sheet, but they aren’t doing anything.
Again, I can’t even locate the “Targets” tab, never mind click on it.
Any ideas?

J2022 Beta3 Download Link + What's New
Mike B.
Hi all,
J2022.2110.30 Beta 3 download link + what's
new is below.
32 & 64 Bit Download Link:
Enhancements in JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion
2022 Public Beta 3
The following is a list of improvements made
between Public Beta 2 and Public Beta 3. Note that while many customer-reported
enhancements are included
in this release, the following is a list of more notable changes. Enhancements in JAWS 2022 and Fusion 2022
Public Beta 3
list of 9 items • In JAWS and Fusion, added new Quick Settings options for Outlook 365 that let you turn off the announcements for unread, replied, or forwarded. While in Outlook 365, press INSERT+V for Quick Settings, and then search for "Indicate" to find the 3 options. • Addressed a reported issue in Outlook 365 where JAWS was not announcing autocomplete results when typing names into the address fields of a new message. • When pressing ESC to exit the Sound Cards layer (INSERT+SPACEBAR, V, C), JAWS now plays the sound to indicate you have exited the layer. • If you configured JAWS to use a different sound card other than the Windows default, resolved an issue where JAWS generated sounds would continue playing through the Windows default sound card until JAWS was restarted. • Addressed a reported issue where Settings Center would become unresponsive if you typed a quotation mark in the Search edit box. • Addressed an issue where JAWS was not reading as expected while navigating by line in Google Docs and you encountered a link spanning multiple lines. • While the default font size for the Braille and Text Viewers is 20, it is now possible to set the size as low as 16 if needed. • Resolved an issue where pressing INSERT+SPACEBAR, X to launch the Flexible Web wizard was not working as expected in Edge Chromium. • Added support for Azure Virtual Desktop. list end Stay safe & take care. Mike. Just once, I want a username and password prompt to say: "Close Enough!"

Re: I am looking for ken burns baseball. does anyone have it please, at least the audio of it?
Richard Turner <richardturner42@...>
Well, all I know is I tried to watch the Ken Burns Baseball and it said I had to have a Passport account…
I believe the only way you get a passport account is by being a subscriber to PBS. I refuse to give them any money in my area because they still do not provide audio description on many things I know have audio description. This Fall they have improved, but not yet enough.

Do you not have an addressbook? I'm familiar with the Google mail system, and don't usevery it ... sorry about that. However, can't you just select the contact you'd like to message? That's how it works with Outlook.

That being said, I'd rather gnaw off my own fingers than have to reconfigure a Windows system I've been using, and customizing, for years. It's just so much easier to take a system image, including all user data regardless of what it's drive may have been, to have in my back pocket to restore from. It usually takes me less than an hour, start to finish, to recover from a system image backup. It takes a lot longer than that to do a fresh install of Windows and then do all the customizations I can recall that I've done as well as reinstall all the programs. And having your user data on a separate drive will do you no good if that drive were to fail. But I presume you are consistently backing up that drive somehow. There was a time where I separated user data and Windows on separate drives. But in this age of huge drives, cheap, I don't. The probability of any drive failing is about equal, and if you're using an SSD you need to be backing it up even more than an HDD (which should absolutely be backed up routinely, too) because when they fail they are beastly expensive to recover any data from if that's necessary. With backup drives and/or cloud backup storage being so cheap these days, backing up, whether by system image or otherwise, should be a standard part of computer ownership - at least if you care about your data and never want to lose it. I can assure anyone who uses a computer that they will, eventually, suffer a drive failure. It may be only once every 20 years, but if you lose everything you'll regret, bitterly, not having bothered to take backups. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 It is the function of creative men to perceive the relations between thoughts, or things, or forms of expression that may seem utterly different, and to be able to combine them into some new forms--the power to connect the seemingly unconnected. ~ William Plomer

I believe that's the limitation of the basic view. you either go into your address book or contact and send mail from there or just move to standard view. its not that difficult to use and it pack with a lot of keyboard shortcut. Regards, Thomas N. Chan

I used to care more about where I stored things, but with a good
imaging program, it just isn't important. The last time I built a
computer, I had a list of two dozen things I had to install and
configure. I'd sure rather use an image program than reinstall
windows. Life is too short.

When I have a Word document with links in it whether that be email addresses or web addresses is there any way to have them open when I enter on them? Right now when I try and do this the only thing that happens is that a blank line gets placed in the document. If there isn't then that's fine I'm simply curious that's all. Using latest versions of Jaws, Office 365 and Windows 10. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated as always!! Thanks Madison

Hi Brian,
I also make sure that all my personal files are never on Drive C:. I never back up Windows installations or apps, because resetting Windows is very accessible nowadays, with Narrrator.
I’d sooner restore Windows, then reinstall my apps.
Just personal, but I have never had to restore a system image.

Re: JFW and iTunes
Cornelius
I do not know that you could sync music directly to the music app using
dropbox or OneDrive. On Dropbox though you have to play the music on the
Dropbox app. Even if you can sync to the music app, you will need ways to delete
them if the music is no longer required.
There are still certain tasks like backing up the entire phone which cannot
be done without iTune unless one is willing to pay for iCloud storage.

on the Mac has been gone for one or two years now. The iDevicce interacts
with Finder and shows up like a external drive.
You can completely manage apps on the device without the need for iTunes
and if you use either One Drive or DropBox you can access music files and pull
them into the Music app.
I have no idea if Apple plans on pulling iTunes all together, but I can’t
imagine that they are going to continue to pour money into an application that
solely runs on Windows.
What tasks do you directly need iTunes for today?

Auto-adding mails in Gmail Basic View
Rahul Bajaj
Hi,
In Gmail basic view, I have to manually enter an email address each time I compose a new message. Is there a way to ensure that I only have to type part of the address, and then get a suggestion, based on email IDs I have sent mails to in the past, that I can select? JAWS Codes
Annabelle Susan Morison
Hey everybody!
I remember when Chris Smart showed the JAWS list a code to make JAWS sing? I wonder if that same code can help with inflections like, how you say, hyphenated words spoken with primary stress on the first part, for example, mother-in-law, where the "in law" part is spoken in a kind of monotone fashion. What codes would I type for this to take effect?

The page below looks to currently have the shows called inning 1, Inning 2 and Inning 8 from the Ken Burns series with audio description. You could write him and see if he is planning to upload the rest. I copied his page info from my web site under the audio description resources section.
