Glad to know, however I know that Windows 10 eventually won’t be supported anymore and then I’ll have to upgrade so I figure I might as well do it once I get it. Is there any way to find out when my PC might get it?

He seems to think the world will end if he can't run Windows 11. You are of course entirely correct, installing Windows 11 by some sort of hack is probably the worst thing you can do and there is absolutely no reason for it. I still hear of things like File Explorer being fairly sluggish with all screenreaders in Windows 11 and while I am also curious about Windows 11, I am in no particular hurry and have a feeling that once I do maybe install it on the one computer I currently own which says it can run it I will be underwhelmed and find that on a day-to-day bases it will make little difference.

Why would you want to install an unsupported operating system?  My understanding is that if you do, you may not get security updates.  I'd install the latest version of windows 10 and be content, even if you really want 11, you probably don't want it for the first six months, unless you like  using your computer for a door stop instead of a computer.  Leave the first little while to those with spare computers.

If you have no issues and all is working well and both computers are capable of Windows 11 and you are running Jaws 2022 or whatever version of NVDA which fully supports Windows 11 then I don't know why you wouldn't upgrade. Yes, Windows 10 will be supported for 4 more years, but if all was well I'd still upgrade.

Do you not find File Explorer to be slow to respond when navigating longer lists of folders and files?

Hi Marie,

Okay try this:
4. Down arrow to,Configure web verboscity levels closed, and right arrow to open.

There are 3 verboscity levels here and medium is the default.  Press the spacebar on Medium...
Block quotation is the first 1 .

I really haven't read much about functionality in windows 11 that will make any difference to me.  I don't care where the start button is on the task bar, as long as the windows key still brings it up.  This computer can run it, but I've already read of a problem with my brand of printer/scanner not working via usb under 11.  Sure, I can connect via network, but that will likely reduce scanning speed.  I'm not going to get too excited until customers start with windows 11 questions.  That may be a while.

Windows 10 was a huge step forward over 8, but 11 sounds like a nothing burger.

Mike forgot one step before his #5.

When you get to Web Verbosity > Reading and you expand it, the first item you see/hear is this:

Web Verbosity Level Medium, 1 of 10

Then the next item is Configure Web Verbosity and you again press right arrow to expand it as per Mike's instructions.

Now comes the missing step, you have three options here which you can configure:

High

Medium

Low

Obviously you want to configure the same verbosity level that it shows when you first expand the Reading option, in my example it says "Web verbosity medium" so if that is the case for you then go to "Medium" and make sure you press the spacebar as enter will not only not open this item, but it will entirely close the Settings Centre. After you press the spacebar the Block Quote option is the very first one and by default it is checked, uncheck it by pressing the spacebar, tab to OK and you are done.

How many files did you try?

It’s worth noting that what you’re doing is not actually opening a file on your computer, but a little text file  that points to a url where the data is streaming from.

So, it could be that the stream itself isn’t working at the moment. It happens.

You are correct the instructions are missing a couple steps.
There are three levels of HTML verbosity. It is possible that just changing your HTML verbosity to "low" will be what you want. The default verbosity is "medium".
If that doesn't work then step 5 says to open the adjust verbosities" menu item. In there are three items one for Low, Medium and High. You need to move to the verbosity you have selected that I mentioned in the previous paragraph and then press space. This will bring up a dialog of checkboxes to adjust HTML verbosity.
My terms might be a little off, since I am writing this without a Windows computer in front of me.
Good Luck!
Jonathan

Are you booting to Linux before this happens?
Linux will change the computer's time if time set is not set up in the Linux you are booting up to.

That is the only way and they are clear instructions, you can always call FS support and ask them to help you, they could connect via Jaws Tandem and do it for you.

Hi Jim,

Try the following:

1. Open the Settings Center, Insert / Jaws Key + 6, on the number row and press, Control, Shift + D, to open default all applications.

2. Arrow down to, Web / HTML / PDF's, and right arrow to open.

3. Arrow down to, Reading, and right arrow to open.

4. Down arrow to,Configure web verboscity levels closed, and right arrow to open.

5. Arrow down to, Block quoatation, and uncheck this checkbox.  Now tab to, Okay, press the spacebar, tab to, Apply, press the spacebar, tab to, Okay,
and press enter to save and close.

Stay safe & take care.  Mike.
Just once, I want a username and password prompt to say:  "Close Enough!"

Good morning everyone,

Between yesterday morning and this morning, I’m unable too open ACB media seven radio  stream, using the VLC media player.  Is this particular player unable too open M3U files as well?  I can’t even open this stream using the older windows media player.

Thanks in advance,

Why would you want to install an unsupported operating system?  My understanding is that if you do, you may not get security updates.  I'd install the latest version of windows 10 and be content, even if you really want 11, you probably don't want it for the first six months, unless you like  using your computer for a door stop instead of a computer.  Leave the first little while to those with spare computers.

Hi, Shankar. One thing you might want to check is the setting under Windows Settings (Windows key plus I)>Privacy>App Permissions, location, and make sure that your location is set correctly to the place you are. If it is not set correctly, and you have the time zone set to automatic, and set time to automatic, it will adjust your time based on the location set under Settings>Privacy>Location, even though that information may be incorrect.
