Hi,
If he has FSReader installed with a copy of JAWS, he should be able to open a epub book/file. If the file is properly formatted with headings he should be able to navigate it like a web page.

Hi,
A friend of mine, who is not on the list, is having a real problem obtaining a free accessible epub reader as can be seen below. Can anyone offer a solution or even a way of installing Adobe Digital while avoiding the Norton trial offer?
Following are some of the programs he has tried along with the results:
I have tried bookworm which would only extract with 7zip but running the installer triggers a security warning from windows 10 windows defender. I have tried browser extension addons which are supposed to allow the user to read epub books but these did not seem to be accessible.
Another is Adobe Digital, the latest version, it comes bundled with a Norton trial offer. The norton installer window is not accessible which prevents adobe digital from fully installing unless you can click agree or no thank you in the norton trial window. Unfortunately the negative option can not be located.
Calab will convert between different ebook formats when used through the command line or bat files but can not be used through the g u i as it is totally inaccessible.
So does anyone know of an accessible free epub reader apart from those listed above or a way to get around the Nortons trial offer?
Thanks
I would also like to know of a free accessible Epub program. Tom

Hi
Billy,
I believe you just
can’t pay a subscription only for Outlook 365. You basically subscribe to
Microsoft 365, and you can use a bunch of apps, included Outlook. Why don’t you
just try it out? I’m pretty sure Microsoft gives a 1-month free trial. I can
tell you from my experience that the most difficult part to use Outlook is
probably the learning curve if you have never used it before. There are many
personal settings that I would not like to loose, but I tell you, I will
probably never come back to Thunderbird.

It seems as though they've taken away the ability to keep this as the default view, though. For the past few days, I've had to toggle it on when I've logged in to the web interface. I can't find the "set Basic HTML as the default view" that I used to see before, and it isn't under the Settings, either. Re: Narrator braille driver still conflicts with all other braille drivers in Windows 11, but there is hope
I have been playing with fast switching for my students. Since Narrator uses Brltty directly as a Braille interface it blocks everything else.
When done with the session, you need to hit windows+control+N, go into Braille settings, and turn off the switch for use Braille. Then the computer has be restarted in order for JAWS to load the Braille driver.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Greetings,
If you use Narrator as a backup when Jaws flakes out on you for some reason, do not activate braille in Narrator unless you do not plan to use a braille display with Jaws.
Microsoft told me that they have moved this issue off the back burner and are putting some energy into fixing it, but no knowing when that might be.
Once you activate the Narrator braille driver, you have to figure out how to completely remove it to go back to using any braille display with Jaws.

This is not the official NFL Game Pass. This is a different app, and yes, the cost is $1.99.
As others have said, results with this app vary. There have been times when none of the links offered would play the game I was interested in, and sometimes i have had to listen to the opponent's feed, but it is well worth the money.
The NFL used to offer an audio pass at a reduced price, but this stopped a few years ago. The NBA used to also offer an audio only option at a low price, but this stopped last year, and if you want their product you have to pay full price even if you don't use the TV option. Mr. Ho is fighting an uphill battle with the sports leagues, as they are putting the squeeze more and more on teams and their affiliated radio stations to not stream the games on their own.

TuneIn dropped the NFL and all professional sports in early 2020. They brought it back this year at some point at the roughly $10 per month premium account.
I listen to NFL games on GameDay Audio for a one time cost of $1.99. Yes, you have to try different stations, but for the games I have wanted to hear this year, it has always worked.

Re: Unable to load Basic HTML view in Gmail
The basic view as default no longer works the way it used to.
Used to be (with basic as default) I could simply go to "gmail.com" and it would load the page with the basic HTML view already set. Now if I go to gmail.com it loads the standard view and I have to hit the basic HTML button for each separate visit. To use basic from the outset I now have to use a bookmark (to the page that comes up when I hit the basic HTML button).
It's not a change I'm particularly happy with but I've at least mostly made the mental switch.

It seems as though they've taken away the ability to keep this as the default view, though. For the past few days, I've had to toggle it on when I've logged in to the web interface. I can't find the "set Basic HTML as the default view" that I used to see before, and it isn't under the Settings, either. (Sight dependent people seem to like the Standard view better; when my husband needs to find something in my e-mail, he sets it to Standard view, and I'd find it that way the next time I log in. Imho, it's not very JFW or this-user friendly.)

Re: What program is best when it comes to making a system image?
No, the system image is different. The backup utility is best if
you might need to restore something like data files, the image is
to restore the whole system since individual files aren't easy to
access. I don't think the backup has been touched since windows
7, and they were trying to kill the image feature a few years ago
in 10. Best to get a program from someone else to handle these
functions, the Microsoft backup is just sad and the image is
useful, unless you wish to make several and then put them on one
backup drive.

Not for free. I have the premium subscription on the Tune-In radio App. It's around $10, and I can listen to NFL games, as well as any other sporting events that have radio broadcasts. When all I'm doing is listening anyway, it's the cheapest option.
