Hello,

The URL:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/accounts
Should get you to the right area assuming you have only one Gmail account. Since I don’t currently use this feature I can not see how one would turn it off. To turn it on there is a button labeled add another email address which then prompt you for the e-mail address and then I assume the credentials.

I got to this uRL by clicking the settings button then finding full settings and then clicking on the Accounts tab.
After you are on the accounts tab pressing “Q” to get to the “Main” region of the page should get you to the start of the settings area.

Hi, Madison. I don't understand. You said you wanted to remove an address.
If you don't have a new address that you want your email forwarded to, then
just remove the old address, and don't forward.

This is a little confusing, that's why it would be better if I could talk
with you. That way, I could answer questions in real time, instead of going
back and forth, trying to figure out what you are asking.

Outlook 2010 has been out of support for a long time and needs to be updated. People really have to specify if they use such old software and I for one won't even attempt to reply or help because it's pointless. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it's no different from somebody who is trying to use Jaws 16 or 17 or even Jaws 18 with the latest Windows 10 build.

I am actually glad Microsoft is setting such a relatively high standard for Windows 11, hopefully you can't even install things like Office 2007, 2010 or 2013 on such a computer any more and we know people who have a Windows 11 computer will need Jaws 2022 or whatever latest version of NVDA so this should really help in getting people up to speed. Falling or staying behind for so many years is not worth it.

I have done that, Curtis.  I filled out the JAWS Beta form last week when I first encountered this problem.  I also contacted Freedom Scientific’s Technical Support staff.  They suggested that because Outlook 2010 is rather old that I should upgrade to a newer version of Outlook.  Right now, I am trying to contact my technician to find out whether or not it will be possible to do such an upgrade, as the computer I use is eight years old.

Are you running the latest Jaws 2022 Beta? I would consider myself to be a fairly advanced computer user and especially taks I do all the time I like to do very fast which of course is a reason why I use Eloquence and I would definitely say Jaws 2022 is very responsive in Outlook when navigating mailboxes, deleting items and so on. As for opening mails it really depends a bit on the content on the message, the length of a thread etc., but Jaws 2022 here is also faster than Jaws 2021 ever was. And finally I assume it also depends a bit on your internet speed, whether you have a reasonably fast system with an SSD and all that.

Hi,

I wouldn’t say super responsive, it’s not bad. But if you try NVDA with ESpeak, it runs way more responsive than JAWS ever will I think.

I can’t ever imagine JAWS being a lean app, there is too much legacy stuff in there still.

All the best

Do I need to do anything with the forwarding address, or as long as the disable
forwarding checkbox is checked is everything good?

Here's how my dialog looks on gmail,

Forwarding:

Forwarding:

1 of 2
Forward a copy of incoming mail to radio button checked
2 of 2

you need to change it so that
Disable forwarding radio button not checked
is changed to

by spacing on the
Disable forwarding radio button not checked

By the way, Madison, the reason my dialog looks this way is that I am using
Basic html mode in gmail.

If you need help with this, I will send you my phone number in the United

receive my private message with my phone number, you can reply back, and give me
yours instead. I have free calling to Canada, and I won't be charged if I call

I know this is off topic, but hopefully this one-time dispensation can be granted!

Back a few weeks ago, someone posted an email talking about putting together instructions for the new allegedly accessible flip phone that AT&T has been passing out for those of who had older phones.  Would that person please contact me off list at ttford@...?

Thank you,

The self-voiced installation of Windows 10 or Windows 11 has nothing to do with Jaws or NVDA for that matter, Narrator is used for this as it is integrated with Windows.

Jaws 2021 will work with Windows 11 to some point although I would strongly recommend that you download the public beta of Jaws 2022 which will be publicly released most likely later in October and it will have better support for Windows 11 especially going forward. You can use it for free until the public release, after that you would have to be licensed to use it either via the annual subscription or you would have to have an SMA remaining to activate it.

I would probably recommend as well that you wait until Windows 11 is offered to you and Microsoft already said that while they will start the official roll-out, not everybody who can get it will get it via Windows Update next Tuesday.

Also note that you can’t do operations on a folder with the Control Y list. That is to say, you can’t rename a folder, even by pressing your applications key. For this, only the Control Shift Tab or Shift F6 methods will work.

In other words, Control Y is literally a Go To command, whereas the others take you to the folder pane.

I apologize, I should have said Control + Shift + Tab is what brings you to the folder list when  you are in a mail box. It used to be that Shift + Tab did, but now you have to add the Control key to that shortcut.

As for F6, it still works, but if you are in a mailbox and you want to go straight to your folders list you have to press Shift + F6, if you press only F6, you would have to press it 4 times to get there, the fifth time you would be back in your mailbox, but Shift + F6 will get you there right away.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the folder list you get to with Control + Shift + Tab or Shift + F6 no longer contains Calendar, Contacts and Notes. But if you use Control + Y these are still there.

If you want to get to them in another way you have to press Shift + F6 twice or F6 three times, this will put you on the "Mail button", you can now arrow right to Calendar, People (which is Contacts) or Tasks. The last item here is something called the "Navigation menu" and if you activate this you can find Notes or you can find "Navigation Options", here you can reorder these items the way you want and you can put Notes further up in the list so it will show up instead of, for example, Tasks.

To do this when you have tabbed into the list, find Notes and then tab to where it says "Move Up" and activate it until Notes is where you want it in that list, similarly you could go to Tasks and move it down.
