I have a question regarding this as well. I know the procedure to set the
hotkey for JAWS, however, it says I need administrator privileges in order
to do this, but my account on my computer is an administrator account. Go
figure. Any suggestions?

I don't see any way of purchasing just the scripts.

I don't know which USD value is correct because the Research It feature for JAWS 2020 doesn't work as explained, but Google yields the above USD amounts.

Just starting with Teams. I'm doing fairly well with the free scripts and have listened to the Hartgen audio description.



One thing I have run up against, and did not hear on the audio, is settings in Teams. Sharing my computer audio is easy but sharing my screen is a graphic that I can't find and don't always have sighted help available.



I assume there are probably other hidden controls as well. Does Hartgen's scripts provide access to these controls?

I've been using ms Teams for almost 2 years now. Initially just used the scripts included with Jaws, then tried out the free scripts from Doug Lee, and a month ago purchased the Teams course as well as the scripts from Brian Hartgen.



The first thing I would like to point out about Brian's scripts is that he has put a lot of emphasis on being efficient. There are lots of commands in his scripts that make a user extremely efficient when working with Teams.



e.g.


* A key stroke to tell you the status of the mike when on a teams call.
* A key stroke to list all the participants in the meeting
* A key board command to jump to and display the conversations in a meeting.
* A keyboard command that will bring the ms teams into focus from any other location. Extremely useful.
* Ability to assign sounds to notifications etc.

Although I've been using ms teams for almost 2 years, I've experienced some difficulties in areas like working with team feeds as compared to the chats

So I've found his ms teams course extremely helpful.



Note: I've attended webinars from both Microsoft Accessibility desk, and Vispero. These webinars were good to get you going, but to really use the full capability of ms teams Brian's course is great.



So if you are concerned with being as efficient when working with ms Teams as your sighted colleagues then Brian's course and scripts are worth the cost. As well Brian fully supports his work, he has an email group for questions and one can always ask for new features to be included in the scripts and if they make sense he adds them.



Anyways, I'm very happy with both the course and the scripts.

  1. Inter name/group, LIVE
  2. 2. Tab until I hear the name, LIVE and hit enter
  3. 3. Tab until I hear the volune, etc
  4. 4. Arrow or tab until I hear mute, I then un-mute and I’m finished

As Brian says, Office hasn't changed substantially, except for the menus.

There's a lot of training in JAWS help for Office 365 too.

The office 365 screens the student is dealing with require a lot of tabbing.
She had an email with 46 attached training documents. they were not set up
the way Outlook 2016 does them, in a list where you can copy them one at a
time. Instead, each file had three buttons:
Filename, download button, more actions button. Clicking on the download
button took you away from the list, requiring 5 presses of
f6 to get back. then you had to tab past the three buttons for each item
you had already downloaded in order to get to the next one to download. I
tried with JAWS listing buttons, listing links, listing forms ... Nothing
worked. Just a lot of tabs--let's see, 46 times 3, to be exact. Doable,
but only with determination.

I've been using ms Teams for almost 2 years now. Initially just used the scripts included with Jaws, then tried out the free scripts from Doug Lee, and a month ago purchased the Teams course as well as the scripts from Brian Hartgen.



The first thing I would like to point out about Brian's scripts is that he has put a lot of emphasis on being efficient. There are lots of commands in his scripts that make a user extremely efficient when working with Teams.



e.g.


* A key stroke to tell you the status of the mike when on a teams call.
* A key stroke to list all the participants in the meeting
* A key board command to jump to and display the conversations in a meeting.
* A keyboard command that will bring the ms teams into focus from any other location. Extremely useful.
* Ability to assign sounds to notifications etc.

Although I've been using ms teams for almost 2 years, I've experienced some difficulties in areas like working with team feeds as compared to the chats

So I've found his ms teams course extremely helpful.



Note: I've attended webinars from both Microsoft Accessibility desk, and Vispero. These webinars were good to get you going, but to really use the full capability of ms teams Brian's course is great.



So if you are concerned with being as efficient when working with ms Teams as your sighted colleagues then Brian's course and scripts are worth the cost. As well Brian fully supports his work, he has an email group for questions and one can always ask for new features to be included in the scripts and if they make sense he adds them.



Anyways, I'm very happy with both the course and the scripts.

there are also scripts that come as part of a training tutorial from Brian Hartgen, however the price is 100 pounds which equals $ 138.06, or $ 138.65, or $ 138.6674, or $ 138.0146, etc.

I don't see any way of purchasing just the scripts.

I don't know which USD value is correct because the Research It feature for JAWS 2020 doesn't work as explained, but Google yields the above USD amounts.

Just starting with Teams.  I'm doing fairly well with the free scripts
and have listened to the Hartgen audio description.



One thing I have run up against, and did not hear on the audio, is
settings in Teams.  Sharing my computer audio is easy but sharing my
screen is a graphic that I can't find and don't always have sighted
help available.



I assume there are probably other hidden controls as well.  Does
Hartgen's scripts provide access to these controls?

Hartgen.org has some great scripts for ms teams, does cost, though.

Just starting with Teams.  I'm doing fairly well with the free scripts
and have listened to the Hartgen audio description.



One thing I have run up against, and did not hear on the audio, is
settings in Teams.  Sharing my computer audio is easy but sharing my
screen is a graphic that I can't find and don't always have sighted
help available.



I assume there are probably other hidden controls as well.  Does
Hartgen's scripts provide access to these controls?

I've been using ms Teams for almost 2 years now.  Initially just used
the scripts included with Jaws, then tried out the free scripts from
Doug Lee, and a month ago purchased the Teams course as well as the
scripts from Brian Hartgen.



The first thing I would like to point out about Brian's scripts  is
that he has put a lot of emphasis on being efficient.  There are lots
of commands in his scripts that make a user extremely efficient when
working with Teams.



e.g.


   * A key stroke to tell you the status of the mike when on a teams
call.
   * A key stroke to list all the participants in the meeting
   * A key board command to jump to and display the conversations in a
meeting.
   * A keyboard command that will bring the ms teams into focus from
any other location.  Extremely useful.
   * Ability to assign sounds to notifications etc.

Although I've been using ms teams for almost 2 years, I've experienced
some difficulties in areas like working with team feeds as compared to
the chats

So I've found his ms teams course extremely helpful.



Note: I've attended webinars from both Microsoft Accessibility desk,
and Vispero.  These webinars were good to get you going, but to really
use the full capability of ms teams Brian's course is great.



So if you are concerned with being as efficient when working with ms
Teams as your sighted colleagues then Brian's course and scripts are
worth the cost.  As well Brian fully supports his work, he has an
email group for questions and one can always ask for new features to
be included in the scripts and if they make sense he adds them.



Anyways, I'm very happy with both the course and the scripts.

Make sure that the JAWS icon is on your desktop. When on that, hold down ∀alt key and tap enter! That brings up the properties dialog. Press the tab until you hear an edit box where you can enter the shortcut and tab to the okay button, and press the enter key! There you go.

It has been a couple of years since I used Citrix, but they scripted a
special link or me to enter in to the connection on their server using the
remote support. Then after connecting to the server I could use the various
apps that were set up especially for me using JAWS. Jaws has a specific
person on staff you can ask all these questions. Just tell your IT to call
JAWS and they will tell them how to do it. They do have to install the JAWS
on their server though.

Hi all,
Can someone please refresh my memory of how to set the hotkey to turn Jaws on? I
know what it is, but when I press it nothing happens so I know I need to re-set
it.
I'm getting some help and the tech guy decided that we needed to do a Jaws
repair and in doing so I lost my hotkey to start Jaws. Using latest versions of
Jaws and Windows 10. Thanks Madison
