I don't recommend that at all because first of all there is a good chance it may reinstall the next time there is a major Windows update and secondly it uses such an inconsequential amount of space that you might as well leave it. This way if you decide at some point you want to use it it's right there and you can simply log in. Anybody who has a Microsoft 365 subscription might as well use it since you get 1 Tb of free storage with the subscription.

Instead of all the initial steps you can just press the Windows key and start typing "startup", chances are that by the time you type "start" you hear Jaws saying "Startup Apps, System settings, Press right to switch preview", press enter at that point and then tab until you get to OneDrive, in the process you may come across something else you may find you don't need to load at startup and you can turn it off by pressing the spacebar.
When you are done just press Alt + F4 to exit the Settings, there is no OK button or anything like that and the next time you reboot (no need to reboot right away) it won't come up.

Hi, Tom. Here's the easiest way I found to deactivate OneDrive.

1. From the desktop, press the Windows Key plus X.
2. Arrow down to Apps and Features, and press ENTER.
3. Press SHIFT plus TAB once to get to the list of categories.
4. Arrow down to Startup, and press ENTER.
5. Now, tab through the list of programs that run when the computer starts, and turn off OneDrive.
6. Close the Startup dialog, and reboot your computer.

Now OneDrive shouldn't come up when your computer starts.

My previous response jumped the gun so to speak.

I meant to ask you if you just wanted to stop one drive from starting when Windows starts; whether you want to uninstall one drive or; whether you want to disable one drive, which will also uninstall one drive.

Bill's and Randy's suggestions will help you with the first 2 questions in the paragraph above, whereas, if you want to disable one drive, let me know, and I will send you the instructions off-list.

Switch has both free and paid options. I did downlaod some free switch converter at some point and while it kind of did what I wanted it installed a lot of ..not exactly ads, but basically start menu items pointing to their various other bits of software that I did not have. I seem to remember there were some limitations to the audio converter as well? Still, if it does what you need to do, go for it – you can always get rid of it after the job is done if you maybe it doesn’t do those weird things anymore and/or you can control the installer a little more than I did..this must have been at least ten years ago if not more.

Hi, Richard. The problem isn't that the information isn't available. The problem is that, if one is unfamiliar with this particular dialog box, and one doesn't know that this information is there, it is easily missed, since one can't arrow out of the edit box to see that there is more information there than just the edit box.

Tab again:

And tab one more time to go back to the edit field:

Page: Edit 1

I now route JAWS to PC and do a Say Line (Jaws Key + NumPad 8):

Page: 1 of 2

You can also switch to the touch cursor when you are in the edit field and right arrow once, Jaws in this case will say "of 2" because in the edit field is the "1" and then the "of 2" is spoken.

But as others pointed out, if you route Jaws to PC, then go to the top of the page and arrow down you should also hear 1 / 2 or whatever the number of pages is, if you have 10 pages and are on page 6 it would say 6 of 10

Whether one or the other is easier and quicker every body has to decide, I guess Pressing Control + Shift + N and then route Jaws to PC and Say Line is a fairly quick and easy combination and it's maybe a bit more reliable in an accessible PDF.

I would try two things:

Close Narrator if it's running and/or Jaws 2020

Open Jaws 2021 either with a keyboard shortcut if you set one or type Windows Key + R and type Jaws2021 without spaces and press enter

Wait maybe 10 seconds and then press Jaws Key + Escape, this will unmute the sound card and set the volume to a medium level should any of this be an issue

If that does not help and you have Jaws 2021 set up to start at the login screen and also after logging in simply close everything and restart your computer.

If that also doesn't help could you maybe have set Jaws 2021 to use a different synthesizer? Do you have a USB or Bluetooth headset on your PC? If so maybe check to see if Jaws 2021 is speaking there.

Subject: Silence when navigating an Excel document

Hello,  I am running Office 16, Windows 10 and the latest JFW21 and after installing the last update of JAWS, I no longer can navigate through an Excel document using my arrow keys.  Has any one else found this and what do I do to get it back?
