When I followed the link for the Death summary for Friday, July 9th.

The line below the heading on that next page was a listing for:

DANTZLER, Thomasener, Summerville

That was the only one listed.

If you hit the next link, it took you to Thursday, where there was one listing, then the next link took you to Wednesday where there was one listing….

Perhaps to get full access you actually do need a subscription or at least an account.

Since they have a subscription option; my guess is to get full details, you need an account.

Perhaps you could simply call them to find out.

Sieghard , I was not implying or meaning to imply that a Amazon prime membership allowed you not to pay taxes.  Jus, I rarely have had to pay provincial or HST on any products I’ve purchased from Amazon. When ones purchases exceed $100 frequently, 12% taxes is $12 in taxes. That adds up.

Hi David,

I'm sorry, but what gives you the idea that an Amazon Prime membership means Amazon doesn't have to charge you taxes? I order a fair bit from Amazon since I live in a very small town where I often can't find the same selection as you get in the big city and I have a personal Amazon account with a prime membership as well as an Amazon business account with Amazon Business Prime and except in a few cases where the item comes from a seller outside of Canada and it is not veryt expensive 5% GST and 7% PST (I live in British Columbia) are always applied to every purchase.

Best regards,

Sieghard

Well, I had no idea sales tax was applied to the SMA in the United States.  In Canada if you can prove you have a vision problem, registered with the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) you are tax exempt from the purchase of the SMA.  As for Amazon, although not related, I have a prime membership which pretty much makes paying taxes on purchases a non issue.  No taxes are paid or shipping for that matter unless I don’t listen to the prompt of shipping costs.  There are times where the shipping cost is more then the actual item.

I believe they are physically located in Florida. However, this does not matter. My zipcode is in Sacramento therefore I pay sales tax there. Amazon is out of Seattle I think but again I have to pay sales tax according to my zipcode. The state of Oregon has no sales tax so no taxes on purchased items unless they have a law for Internet purchased products.

Mario,

The application of sales tax is a function of where you reside and your
state’s laws regarding whether sales tax applies to computer software
and its various forms. If your state applies sales tax to software and
Freedom Scientific has a physical presence in your state, Freedom
Scientific is obligated to collect sales tax and remit it to the state.
The sales tax should be calculated on the discounted price of the
software or SMA.

Like other tax laws, application of sales tax is an ever changing
situation. So, just because it did not apply in the past, doesn’t mean
it won’t in the future.

when I experienced this about 6 months ago, for some reason (because I recalled a note), I pressed alt+dash which opened a context menu like when one presses alt+space bar, then arrowed to and entered on maximize. doing so also cleared up navigation and editing sluggishness issues.

I think in Excel, there are two windows to maximize, the main window and the working area.

Hello.

What happens if you just start typing in the cell, only necessary to hit
f2 to edit current cell contents.  About all I can suggest is make sure
excel is maximized, and if it has been an age since you've done so, you
might want to restart.

It sounds like you are working with a protected word form. You might be able to review the content of the form by pressing insert-Z to turn on virtual mode. Also try using the JAWS cursor. If indeed the form is a protected one, you should be able to move to the areas you need to fill in by pressing the tab key.
The article at:

While a little old, does describe techniques for creating such a form and also provides some hints as to how to navigate it.

Hallo

I am experiencing similar problems. Word freezes whenever I open "old"
.docs files.

With new files it seems to help if I save to One Drive instead of to
"documents".

Hope it is a bug in Jaws that will cler up te problem when a new Jaws update
comes out.

Hi all,
I just received a Word document, but when I open it Jaws won't read it, any idea
why I can't read it and what I can do to get Jaws to read it? It's an
assessment, so it's meant to be filled in and it's not in protected view or
anything. Using latest versions of Jaws, Office 365 and Windows 10. Really hope
someone can help as I really need and want to get this filled out.
Thanks Madison

Hi, sorry but there is one more thing I've done and will read properly.

Copy all with control +a. Open either a notepad or wordpad document and
paste it. Then open a new word document and paste it back to the Word
document. Not sure why but this often works when JFW refuses to read.

Hi,

When this happens to me, I often try to enable editing by hitting alt +f
then letter i then letter e. If this does not work, as sometimes I do
experience, I then save to my system first and then it will read.

Best of luck,

Rick

Actually, using Shift + Tab is especially important when installing Logitech Options. After you run the file if you press tab you are done, but if you wait a bit to make sure it has loaded and then press Shift + Tab you can manage it just fine. Once installed using Tab to get to the checkbox for the function keys is actually fine, but shift + tab also works.

Hi.

I agree with Sieghard regarding Options. If I remember, I got the tip of doing SHIFT+TAB to get to the option of making the function keys not require FN when doing commands.

Also, FN+F5 is the applications key on the K780. There are few situations when SHIFT+F10 and the applications key do something slightly different.

Hope this is helpful.

I agree that  it would be nice if the installation of Logitech Options software were more accessible, but it can be installed by a screenreader user with Jaws, I can't speak for Narrator since I haven't tried and I can't speak for NVDA since I don't use it.

Once installed it is really not so difficult to tab until you find the checkbox which says " Use F1 - F12 as standard function keys" and Jaws actually clearly indicates if this is checked or not checked. Furthermore even if you need sighted help to install and do this, I would still say this is not such a bad thing since once it's done once you can basically forget about it until you either completely reset Windows and have to reinstall the software or until you buy a new computer where the same is required or until you see Logitech Options in your list of installed applications and decide that maybe this is no longer needed and uninstall it in which case your function keys go back to being media keys.

At my business I use wired Das Keyboard Professional 4 mechanical keyboards which are quite expensive but in my opinion are worth it, at home where I really want a wireless keyboard my Logitech K780 has been fantastic and I think it's now at least 2 or more years old and it still works great which is good. It doesn't have an application key, but it's not so difficult to get used to Shift + F10 and while it also doesn't have a Windows Key on the right side of the spacebar that is also not that big of a deal for me, my mechanical wired keyboards have both, but I actually often find myself not even using the right Windows Key because so many keyboards don't have it and I'm used to not having it and the same goes for the application key.

I agree that the software for their keyboards is almost impossible to work with and I have had less than stellar accessibility with Logitech in the past.

I am finding myself wondering why I even tried this one and Most likely will be returning it to Best Buy in the near future.Marie

I took possession of a Logitech K 380 a few weeks ago.

Whilst It is not this keyboard that you are looking at but found the following which might possibly apply across Logitech keyboards.

  1. For good screenreader compliance you need to change the function keys from hardware   media etc to normal Function keys.
  2. The options software you download from Logitech to achieve this – which I think is used for all Logitech keyboards is very screenreader unfriendly and realistically you need sighted help to install and use it.
  3. My keyboard has no application key. I have to use shift F10 but  occasionally  it does not respond. In these circumstances though using FN F6 will bring up the context menu on my Logitech.
  4. If you change the function keys to normal you gain an insert key. By default this is the volume down  key on my keyboard.

Since this is a wired keyboard I assume you are not looking for a wireless one and in this case I would highly recommend the Das Keyboard Professional 4 wired mechanical keyboard. You can get it with very tactile clicky Blue switches which to some may seem noisy, I find them just fine and very satisfying and I definitely prefer them over the Brown switches which are quieter and don't have the positive feedback.

This is a no-nonsense beautifully crafted keyboard made from aluminum with 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back, a very nice and large volume knob and basic buttons for mute, Play/Pause and rewind and forward as well as a dedicated Sleep button which is, however, very flush and hard to find at first.

What I like is the fact that it has a very traditional 104-key, IBM style keyboard layout with the 12 function keys with large gaps between F4 and F5 and F8 and F9, a very traditional 6-pack and cursor key T and that's it. No extra gaming keys and the function keys all work as they should out of the box and it's truly a plug and play keyboard with no software installation required, but it has updatable firmware.

It has a Windows key on either side of the spacebar as well as an application key and the usual tactile dot on the F and J keys. The F and J dots on my keyboards have worn off quite a bit, but you can get replacement key caps from them as well.

Here is the link to their website:

In the USA, Amazon does collect state sale taxes no matter if you are a Prime member or not.
