Re: best email?
For anyone who does not wish to go the Outlook route, Thunderbird is an excellent email client and accessible.
For the adventurous and those who already use and like any Chromium-based browser, the Vivaldi browser has just released a version that has an integrated email client (yes, email client, not webmail) as a feature of the browser. It's almost certain to be accessible given that the whole of Vivaldi is driven by underlying Chromium presentation management code. Since there are a lot of folks who are using Edge, Chrome, Brave, etc., this would be an experiment worth trying. And the fact that Vivaldi has a privacy-centric ethos is a bonus. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not. ~ André Gide

Hi, still can’t get it to work at this end. I have just tried Firefox with no luck.
When I went back to Edge and read the whole message it mentioned something about having a time out. So maybe my internet is running slow at the moment and this is why it isn’t working. I will try again at a different time and see if that works.
Well it is probably time I should go to sleep now since I have to get up in about four hours.
Thanks for your help. From Shaz. Canberra, Australia.

Hi, Debby. Use the X key to see if there is a check box on the page. This is how you can tell if there is a captcha. If there is one, usually it will say, I'm not a robot, check box not checked. If you are using Chrome, and are signed into Google, it will allow you to verify that you are not a robot after you check the check box.

Hi All,
This thread reminds me of the problem I have been having doing a change of address on the USPS site—that’s the US Postal Service. I get all the way down the page filling in the basic information, and then you are supposed to press a “next” button. Well, I have tried all of the options people have given here, but nothing works to activate that button. I have reported it to USPS, and of course they said that they will route the problem to the appropriate department. Their suggestion was that I have my mail carrier bring me a paper form or get one at the post office. Of course that’s ironic because that is what I was trying to avoid. There is a chance that there might be a CAPTCHA on the page, but if it is there, it is well hidden. I will probably have AIRA do it, but if anyone has a solution, I would like to hear it.
I thought that maybe I was making an error on the page, but I have tried it so many time that I can’t imagine that is the issue. I have tried it with NVDA and the USSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSP app on my iPhone, and no go.
Take care and stay Safe!

If these methods don’t work, try turning on the JAWS cursor, locating the button with that cursor, then pressing Jaws key+the PC key. This used to work often, but less so lately.
Then if that fails, try the touch cursor, shift-PC key and locating the button in case pressing enter works.
It crosses my mind that turning off JAWS and going with Narrator might be an option, but I’ve never tried it.
Little is more frustrating than going through an entire form, only for the last button not to work with a screenreader.

Have you tried using a different browser to see if the results are the same? Also, after pressing spacebar or enter on the confirmation button try pressing, Insert + escape, to refresh / repaint the screen and see if that'll help. I've found that on many websites the chromium browsers are slow to respond to key commands.

Hi, all, I am on a website trying to set up a date and time for a phone interview. I was able to choose the date, and then it gave a list of times available for that date. There is a definite button for each date to choose, but when I enter on the one I want it doesn’t confirm it. I’ve tried actually selecting it and pressing enter and a few other things but nothing works. Any help is appreciated in advance. Using win 10, jaws 2019. Judy & Libby

Re: Setting Up RSS Feeds
Tom,
The page listing all of the NWS RSS Feeds and Podcasts is: https://www.weather.gov/rss I don't know exactly what report or region you're looking for. The type of report is generally covered in the links on that page, and once you activate the one you want the specific RSS URLs for that type of report are presented on the page that comes up. On this site the URLs for the actual feeds end in .XML. The use of the XML extension is very common. I think that .RSS is used often as well, but not there. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not. ~ André Gide

Note, you have to sign up for a free account to download described audio files from the Audio Vault, much like
the way the Blind Mice Movie Vault works, only easier. Blind Mice Mega Mall Movie VaultOnce you have established a free account you can go directly to the Movie Vault where they have MP3 files of movie soundtracks with audio description. Most TV's now have the ability to turn on the Audio Description channel, often it is the Secondary Audio Programing feature under the audio controls. If your TV does not have that, check with your cable company about how to access their content with audio description. If you are an xFinity customer you can call their accessibility help desk: 855-270-0379 If you have an iPhone, go to Settings, General, Accessibility. In the section titled Media, you can enable Subtitles and Captioning. Only enable that if you want VoiceOver reading the captions. The next item is Audio Descriptions, it defaults to off, double tap to turn it on using VoiceOver. This way, things you stream with audio description should play the audio description automatically.
