Before I start recording, JAWS speach is definitely using the on-board sound card. When I press the Record button and start recording, this is when JAWS speach is routed through the USB sound card. When I press the Stop Button, and stop recording, JAWS speach is again routed through the on-board sound card.

A link isn't good enough.
I think it is not too much to ask for someone to send more information.
When on a petition page especially.  There is always a description of the petition, or the entire thing can be copied and easily pasted into a message.
I often do this with articles, instead of just the link, to make reading easier for folks.
It's just laziness on someone's part to not paste the information into a message.

I don't know if they are still made, but these have very good sound and not much leakage if any.

Hello,

'twas a very sad day today as my trusty headphones decided they would bite the dust and shuffle off for a place in the headphone retirement home, Rochdale public rubbish dump. I am in the market for a good pair of over-ear headphones with minimal sound leakage, low levels of lag and great sound. I'm unsure how to set up wireless headphones, and so therefore something with a wire would be useful; I have however heard about wired/wireless combos, however unsure how well they work with jaws and avoiding lag etc?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

If the El Braille is going to be viable as a braille note taker, it should have native support on the Focus for brf files in the book reader, which means you have to put the brf on the SD card.
I don't have one; so cannot advise further.

I would have no problem downloading as a BRF--except that I am unaware of what program I could use on the ElBraille to read BRF. I did this easily back when I was using a BrailleNote or, previously, a PAC Mate.
Would I need to install something like OpenBook or Kurzweil 1000 on the ElBraille to read BRFs?

Lag isn't a major problem with most modern bluetooth headphones. When you connect a cable, you prevent all possibility of lag. Ones I like pretty well are the Soundcore q20's.  They are a little bassy at times, but the built-in noise cancellation is really good for low steady noises, and you can easily turn it off or on.  The bluetooth seems fast, and it comes with a cable, which is often easier when not connecting to a cell phone.  Battery life on bluetooth is really good, and unless you have noise cancelling on, using with a cable shouldn't use the battery at all.

Well, for most intents, your unit is just a pc with a braille display attached.  Only reasons I can think of that it might not work is that the archive was damaged when you downloaded it, or fs-reader is damaged.  I'd download the thing again, and then figure out how to reinstall fs-reader if that doesn't work.  All else fails, get the book in another format such as .brf or word.
