I have this same problem on a daily basis. Let me explain. I am using windows 2004, latest version of JAWS, and Microsoft 365. I have 3 Gmail accounts in Outlook. My main one is the problem. If I open Outlook to that inbox, I get nothing. It can sit there for hours. I go to the other 2 inboxes and my mail is there no problem. All 3 inboxes populate properly on my iPhone as well. Even if I do a download command while in my primary inbox it will not get the mail. Only workarounds I've found is to go back and forth a few times to the other inboxes and then it will finally get the mail. Or, what I found lately by accident is to go to one of my other inboxes, copy a message, then go to my primary inbox and paste the message.
At that point, my mail is instantly downloaded. I have gone into option and all inboxes are part of the full send/receive groups. I am baffled by this.

uncomfortable for having seen your information, but I can say it’s
pasted and read very comfortably on my display, and no trace of table
exists. Apart from wishing to assist you, I confess that my interest
concerned the duration of your flight. This I like to compare with
similar durations here in Europe and thus get a rather clear idea of
distances within US states.

Oops, sorry, I misread the initial email, I thought you wanted to find out which Outlook.com addresses were available not that you wanted to register your own.

As James said, such custom domains are really no different from those a business would get and there are a gazillion different dot extensions available now, gone are the days when it used to be .com, .net., .org and of course the various country ones like .ca for Canada, .de for "Deutschland" (Germany) etc.

Now you have things like .store, .biz, .TV, .info, .family, .sexy and many more.

But before I definitely go that route, I want to know how someone gets an eMail address like first@..., or another extension.

Hoping I can do this fairly easily.

I can only recommend Outlook.com, I switched away from my Telus.net email address over 10 years ago and initially set up sieghard@... and sieghard@... since that was before the Outlook.com domain was even available. I still us sieghard@... for email lists, but as soon as outlook.com became available I registered sieghard@... as well and use it as my primary personal email. Of course ithelps that I have not a very common first name although in Germany there are quite a few Sieghard's around as well.

 

In any case, you can go directly to outlook.com and register your email and it will tell you if it's available, but there are also name checker sites available. A quick Google search gave me this one:

 

Best Outlook user name availability checker - Nametool

 

Here you have an edit field where you are asked to "Type Outlook User Name", this would be just what you want in  front of @outlook.com and then activate the "Test User Name button.

Once you do this it displays the result. I don't know if "Glenn Ervin" which you currently have in your email address is the name you want to use, but if it is then that is available, here is the main content of that website (how much is it worth to you, maybe I should just register it now and then I can sell it to you 🤣:

This has not been true for several years now if one is not using an unsecure email client.  Anything that required you to go through the Google OAUTH process when initially setting up the account under the email client is secure.  Outlook, Thunderbird, eM Client, and the Windows 10 Mail App are all secure clients that follow this protocol.

If, however, they're still using something like Windows Live Mail, or ignored certain security alert messages from Google, they need to check in their Google Account under the Security Tab to see what it says with regard to attempts to access Gmail and whether Less Secure Apps are enabled.

If they're using an out-of-support email client they really need to update to one that's in support.

By the way, have they checked the webmail interface to see what may have come in?  That will tell you whether mail's still arriving on the Gmail server for that account.

None that I'm aware of.  The only thing I can think of is if they accidentally turned on the Vacation Responder in General Settings and people have stopped sending anything.  But even if that were the case, I'd expect that something would have arrived from somewhere.

Typically every six months gMail will turn off the ability to use eMail
clients that are not one of their products, they call anything else to be
unsecure eMail clients.
So to use gMail with an eMail client, you have to go into the gMail page and
log in, and go into settings and check "allow unsecure programs", or worded
similar.

All you have to do is uncheck the checkbox for, Turn on smart features and personalization, in the Gmail General settings page, which is what you land on by default when you open the settings page.  You might also want to uncheck the checkbox for, Turn on smart features and personalization in other Google products, as well.

Hi all,
In gmail settings, can anyone tell me where to go to find smartscreen and
personalization? I want to stop gmail from creating events from things in
messages that I receive. I went into calendar settings and was able to stop
these events from showing up in my calendar, but I want to stop gmail from
creating these events in the first place. I looked through gmail settings, but
can't find these settings anywhere. Using firefox, and latest versions of Jaws
and Windows 10. Really hope someone can help me!! Thanks

That's always been my preferred "quick and dirty" method to accomplish this.  I love Notepad for removing all sorts of formatting I don't want.  And in this specific instance, the vertical layout that results is abundantly clear and readable.  The sole exception being what were the headings for departure and arrival, which stack immediately prior to the actual departure and arrival information as a "block."  But it's simple to know which is departure and which is arrival just based on context.

Another option is to paste it first into something like NoteTab or any truly plain text editor.

Then copy it again and paste it where you want and the table will be gone.

Copy the table, then when you go to paste it, press control alt c instead of control c. Then arrow down to unformatted Unicode text.

It will put a tab where the gridline would be.

I can not answer exactly your question, however I feel somewhat uncomfortable for having seen your information, but I can say it’s pasted and read very comfortably on my display, and no trace of table exists. Apart from wishing to assist you, I confess that my interest concerned the duration of your flight. This I like to compare with similar durations here in Europe and thus get a rather clear idea of distances within US states.

Well, I use google to host my own domain. 
You just go through everything with them or get it like from bluehost if I got that hosting company correctly.
if you don't like google, you can get fair share hosting services from a lot of company.

basically, you just buy the domain you like, 
then you can create as much alias or nickname as you want, so long your email server or host company allows them.
for google workspace itself, i have multiple nickname or alias, i can receive email through them. if i got too many spam or what so ever, i just say, byebye  and delete  it.
you can also do the same thing if you host your own email through a good provider. like bluehost.

My ISP will soon be discontinuing eMail service, and although I think that is a mistake on their part, because my eMail account has been the only thing tying me to them, I'm never the less going to have to get a new eMail provider, probably Outlook.com.

But before I definitely go that route, I want to know how someone gets an eMail address like first@..., or another extension.

Hi Bill,

Normally this window should be in the foreground, and it can be alt tabbed to if it is not in the foreground.

Also, Windows is not detecting a problem, it only knows that that particular drive was not ejected the last time it was removed, it is just a canned message from Windows.

It's okay to escape out of the window without scanning.

I have tried the scan multiple times, and it never finds a problem.

Hi, John. Here's how I get to the place where I can scan and fix the external drive,

 

1. Plug in the drive.

2. Go to Windows Explorer with WINDOWS key plus E.

3. Find the drive letter that has the problem, but do not press ENTER on the drive letter.

4. Press ALT plus ENTER to open Properties.

5. Press CONTROL plus TAB to navigate to the Tools Tab.

6. TAB to the Error Checking, Check button, and press ENTER.

7. Press ENTER on the Scan and Repair Drive button.

8. Once the drive is scanned and repaired, press ENTER on the Close button. That's it.

Hi Craig,

 

Does this Simian software have it's own clock?  It sounds like Jaws is capturing another clock since it only does this with the Simian software.  If you open the Settings Center with the Simian software running maybe you can suppress the time announcement by turning off progress bar updates or something.

 

You could also try switching your speech and sound scheme for this software with the, Insert, Alt + S, keystroke.  Invoke this keystroke with the Simian software running to open your list of speech and sound schemes and try them 1 by 1 to see which might work best for this situation.  The speech and sound schemes can be modified as well.

I am using JAWS 2019 with Windows 7.  I do some work for a local radio
station, using their Simian broadcast software.  JAWS continuously
reads the updated time on the flashing clock, updating every second,
which prevents me from being able to read the log.  I have tried
cycling through the read modes with insert S.  However, even in
highlighted only mode, it continues to read the updating time, even
though the current song is the only highlighted text.
Any ideas for getting JAWS to stop announcing the updating time?

moderated Question about converting table view into a text view.

Good morning everyone, 

 

I’m trying too send my sister my flight schedule regarding a delta airline reservation that I made,  where I    will be visiting her in Florida, in  August.  The problem is, that when I copy and paste it into an email, Its all in a table view, and not in a text view which would be easier for her to read.
