Hi Glenn, first you register a domain with a registrar. Which one is up to you. Secondly, and I always keep the 2 separate, never the twain shall meet!! You sign up for a host. Most of them offer email hosting. You could also use an email forwarding service like this, and this is only an example, there are plenty of them out there. http://www.emailescort.com/ Most regular web hosts also offer this service, I believe,
but it's been a while since I worked with email and domains. Of
course, there will be some domain pointing you'll have to do if
you decide to go the regular web host route, it's just changing
nameservers though, and that takes like a few seconds.

Thunderbird Configuration
Glenn / Lenny
Hi,
I just installed a portable Thunderbird eMail on an
external drive, and the install went well, but there is a bunch of crap that I
want out.
How do I remove the calendar, chat and search
features?
There may be more to disable, but I can find how to
configure that in options, seems like I got rid of chat, but it still is giving
me a message that I haven't set it up yet.
but I just want a simple eMail program, not all
this other shit.
Is there another version I can download for just
eMail, or is there something I can remove without disabling the eMail part as
well?
Thanks.

Re: Multi select list box not allowing multiple selections
Nermin
Hi,
I do not remember exactly which one of the following hotkeys it is, but there is a way of starting the selection process for items in lists using Internet Explorer. I am not going to go into detail about why IE should be dumped. So, While on the list, either use F8, F9, or the respective keys in combination with SHIFT to start the selection process. Tick the items you want and see if it does anything. It's been so long ago that I've encountered such lists. Good luck, Nermin

Hi,
I will continue to use my outlook
express.
I just set up a domain as:
last-name.email
So one of my accounts is going to be
first@last.email
.net was not available, and .org was too
expensive.

Hi, My ISP will soon be discontinuing eMail service, and although I think that is a mistake on their part, because my eMail account has been the only thing tying me to them, I'm never the less going to have to get a new eMail provider, probably Outlook.com. But before I definitely go that route, I want to know how someone gets an eMail address like first@..., or another extension. Hoping I can do this fairly easily. Glenn

It should be, yes. I haven't used it personally, but I believe it operates on the same principles as CPanel.

You buy the lastname.net domain, pay someone to host that domain, and hope they allow you to set up email. Or you become skilled at server maintenance and host it yourself. Yes, either is doable with JAWS.

Oh, I completely agree with you that IE should go. And public facing websites are, quite rightly, killing IE. I'm thinking more of applications that are used in house and which rely on IE, or some IT department that is slow to upgrade because of "security concerns". Legacy software is a funny thing; I often end up writing JAWS scripts to get AS/400 type databases to work in a Win10 environment, and AS/400 is decades old now.

Actually it does get the time from the host computer.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I had just forgotten that usually after I've rebooted into windows from having previously been booted into Linux, my windows time is wrong, and sometimes I forget to change it back until someone eMails me and asks me which country I'm in. So the OS changes the BIOS clock, and when windows reboots, in my case, the clock is wrong, and then my eMails have the wrong time stamp. But this only addresses Brian's message, as Marty's computer apparently has the right time, but the eMail's time is wrong. Glenn
