The command won’t be available unless you are in a file.  If you have started a file, or are in one you plan to record over, or starting at the end, etc., then it should work.

Are you using the Jaws set files from Doug Lee?

Hello,

I am starting to use Goldwave for relatively basic recording. I notice that when I press Control-F9, to record, that this feature is not always activated. Also, JAWS does not speak Record and Stop when I use  the key commands for these functions.

 Assistance is appreciated.

Best, Justin

Thanks again Paul.

My site now has these two excellent resources.

I’ll have to check out some of the Amazon Prime movies.

Thanks again,

Hi,

Yeah I think the iTunes one must be fairly new as I only heard about it a little while ago. I often see people asking for audio description resources on an audio game forum I belong to, so it will be good to have them all in one place on your website, providing you don’t mind me sharing the link to your site with others who are asking for audio description resources. Not to take it off topic, but on the topic of audio games, love that you mentioned Jim Kitchen on your site, he’s got some great games, although ironically I don’t think I’ve tried the baseball game,, I’ll have to give that one a go. Thanks again for adding the links I gave to your site, regarding the prime one, I actually thought I saw it on your sight, but when I looked again today I  couldn’t see it, which is the only reason I didn’t send that one yesterday .

Paul,

Keep them coming.

I honestly thought I had the Prime link already there, but must have been one of those “good intentions” I always heard about.

I had the Apple TV plus, but having the iTunes links will be excellent.

I wonder if  that is new as I don’t recall finding it when I updated that part of my site a couple or 4 months ago.

Thanks,

I promise you I won’t keep emailing you with new links! but two other sites that people might find helpful are the sites which show which audio described movies and tv shows are available on Amazon Prime and also what is available on iTunes. I’ll put the two links below if you are interested, I promise that’s the last links I’ll send, sorry to create more work, but thought they might be handy

Something else must be causing that to occur – I am using the latest version of firfox and alt-left works fine here. Don’t really remember having any problems with that function, specifically, in past versions, either.

Yes, this is a problem with Firefox.  When you activate a link to a web page, you cannot return to the previous page with Alt-left arrow.  To get around this problem, open each page in a separate window, shift-enter.  When you want to return to the previous page, just close the window with control-F4.

Yes, this is a problem with Firefox.  When you activate a link to a web page, you cannot return to the previous page with Alt-left arrow.  To get around this problem, open each page in a separate window, shift-enter.  When you want to return to the previous page, just close the window with control-F4.

Thanks again Paul.

My site now has these two excellent resources.

I’ll have to check out some of the Amazon Prime movies.

I had the Apple TV plus, but having the iTunes links will be excellent.

I wonder if  that is new as I don’t recall finding it when I updated that part of my site a couple or 4 months ago.

It does, a bit.

Next time you are in a meeting, try hitting alt control and ahift. Then tab. It will take you to audio settings for your microphone and speakers. Another tab will bring you to video on and off. And so forth. Actually, the first time you hit tab should take you to the mute and unmute button.

I’m talking about basic zoom settings, such as microphone settings, etc..

I can sometimes get to the settings menu using the tab key when in the general Zoom window, but it’s not always consistent.

In my experience, the general Zoom window is the alternate window you can access via the Alt Tab function when in a Zoom meeting.  It’s not the window pertaining to  a specific Zoom meeting.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Hi Mike,

First things first, I’d get the password by going to www.facebook.com, entering in your wife’s email address and choosing "forgot password".

If Facebook logs you in automatically and you don’t want the bother of logging yourself out to do this, just start a private browser window first - this is normally shift+control+n.

Cheers,

Ed

Using Google Chrome, I go to m.facebook.com and log in.  When I go to the
top of my page Jaws will say "Facebook".  I arrow down one time and Jaws
will say "switch to the regular mobile site".  If I'm on the regular site
Jaws will say something like "switch to the basic mobile site".  That is
where you press enter to make that change.  I've never switched back to the
regular site because it is so difficult to navigate.  What I use now is very
accessible and easy to use ...... Much like it was before Internet Explorer
no longer worked with Facebook.  Hope this helps.

And if you have an iPhone it's very easy to do there, just go to the Facebook Menu tab at the very botttom right of the screen, then tap on "Show Top Shortcuts" and then on "Friends". Find the friend you want to manage, and tap on the "Manage your Friendship" next to their name, you then have options to message them, unfollow them, block them or unfriend them.
