Hi Bill:

No, I did get the note, and I am glad you told me what I could do, just in case I had no solution.  However, it didn’t actually answer my question.  I am well aware of the CTRL+J thing, but, what I wanted to know was why the alerts stopped being spoken.  As you can see, this was adequately answered by someone at Vispero who told me about the change, which none of you, were aware of, apparently.  Please understand, this is no reflection of any of you folks.  When something on my computer suddenly stops working as I am used to, I go and investigate the issue.  I try to fix it, and I investigate what is happening, and, I ask questions, until I figure out why things have changed.  I even restored my Windows backup, to see if Edge had changed, and, that’s what I concluded, since, after an update, the alerts stopped being spoken by JAWS.  Edge updates itself, and you may or may not know it when it happens.  Vispero just confirmed what I suspected and explained the change in more detail.

Thanks again.

Ann,

Using Google Chrome, I go to m.facebook.com and log in. When I go to the
top of my page Jaws will say "Facebook". I arrow down one time and Jaws
will say "switch to the regular mobile site". If I'm on the regular site
Jaws will say something like "switch to the basic mobile site". That is
where you press enter to make that change. I've never switched back to the
regular site because it is so difficult to navigate. What I use now is very
accessible and easy to use ...... Much like it was before Internet Explorer
no longer worked with Facebook. Hope this helps.

Good afternoon everyone,  I’m writing this question too all of you that are on list,  Because I’ve noticed the following.  It seems that when I go to the title bar for outlook for office 365 and read the title too see if the outlook window is maximized,  It just says outlook untitled.  It doesn’t give you any indication as to whether or not, that the outlook window is indeed,  maximized.

Also, when I go to the outlook properties icon that is on my desktop, and tab to where it gives you the option to run the  outlook window to a maximized state, when I attempt to too the okay button, it tells me that I need to have administrative privileges to perform this action.  When I called to ask the jaws tech who answered the phone call, I was told that I would have to call the Microsoft disability answer desk too solve this problem.  Do any of you might have  answer or suggestion about this?

Thanks in advance,  Al

Unfriending?  I am actually dying to delete my facebook account, but It just can't be done without all the rigmarole of an app that, to all intents and purposes, is forced upon you once you are well, let's just say foolhardy enough to get sucked in in the first place.  It's just getting worse and worse, facebook is. I, too, recommend Windows Security and it's all I recommend these days to clients, whether they're screen reader users or not.

Look at the most recent testing results from the following antivirus/security testing labs, along with the historical results from the past several years if you want to see how Windows Security/Defender has been performing.  Windows Security has been solidly in the top 10, often top 5, and frequently beats out several well-known competitors that one must pay for.

Hi Juan.  You can't go much wrong with Windows Security/defender.  Other antiVirus software tend to hog your pc's resources in a big way, and to uninstall some of them can be a pain in the back orifice.  As long as you let it do it's job of regularly scanning your pc and updating itself, it causes very few headaches.  Yes you might run into trouble installing programs that are not Microsoft certified, but if it is legal, the most pain you'll get is just to choose to run it or not.  Other than that, I've had no severe problems, personally in letting it just control my pc's security.  Of course it is not perfect, but it's the best, insufferable, security software out there.  Cheers!

Thunderbird has a new Option that allows you to control what happens when a new message arrives.

Open Thunderbird Options and search on "new messages" and the checkboxes and buttons that are associated with each of these options are all that shows up.  I have the checkbox for Show an alert unchecked, but if it is checked you can customize what will appear in alerts when they happen using the Customize button.

Other than the blind mice movie vault, what were the other jaws accessible
movie descriptive web sites?

I am about to sign up for or contribute wherever I need to.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi, Hank. I am a member of Audio Vault. There is no cost to download, and
there is no membership fee. I believe you may donate money if you wish,
however.

The link below to support The AudioVault is a PayPal link.

Hello,

I have only looked so far at the audiovault.net site, they sure have a great
selection of movies on this site! If a person wants to download any of these
movies from the audiovault.net site, is there maybe a cost to download each
movie? or is there maybe a monthly membership fee? Any help I can maybe get
with this would be so very much appreciated! Much, much thanks in advance
for any possible help with this.

Kindest regards,

Hank

Thank you.

They sure do.

I found the last group of message on this, and went to the site.

They are amazing.

I plan to contribute

the movies and shows are so easy to download.

Microsoft’s windows defender is not only built in, but free and accessible, and has remained so the last 6 years. It is located under settings>update and security>Windows security. From there it is simply a matter of clicking on the pertinent button you are interested in e.g. virus and threat protection, windows security (to get a summary of your system security), account protection, firewall and network protection, etc.

Best of luck!

Tyler

Microsoft built-in security suite is all you need. It's free it's accessible and it's effective. I've been using it for years.

HI All,

What is a antivirus package that is accessible? And that won’t chew up my system resources to bad?

Thanks.

I am using Windows 10 with JAWS 21 and Thunderbird.  I am getting irritated with Thunderbird interupting JAWS when I am reading a message and a new message comes in, JAWS will interupt what I am reading to read the new message.  How can I stop this from happening.  I don't mind the message tone from Windows, but JAWS should continue reading without interuptions.
