Hi, Pastor Gilbert. Open Firefox. Press ALT plus T for Tools, followed by O for Options. SHIFT plus TAB once for Categories. Arrow down to the Home category. This is where you set your HomePage.

Marty,

It does work. To rename a sheet, select the option from that context menu. Focus is now on the visual label at the bottom of the page, the part you used to get to with the JAWS cursor.  Insert up arrow will read what is currently there, or you can just start typing, as the whole current sheet name is selected and will be replaced when you start typing.

Thank you very much.  This worked for adding a new sheet at the end of the list.  The Rename function in this menu doesn't seem to work though.

Rename works, but it doesn't give feedback.  Once activated, type in the new name and press enter.

I am using the latest JAWS and Windows 10 with the latest Thunderbird email client and I would like to set up some signatures for my messages like I was doing in Windows Live Mail.  I can't seem to even find anything about signatures in the settings or options in Thunderbird.  Is this even possible?

moderated Re: Tabbing around in outlook

Cohn, Jonathan

Is this a general occurrence for you or only for e-mails from a specific vendor or service?
In web views, it is possible for a coder of the page to re-arrange tab order, and in with the use of CSS one can display things in a different order from the way they are listed in the source code. Either of these can effect tab order.

So, if all e-mails from Global Widget company seem to have tabs out of order, but emails from groups.io don't then this is a problem with the way the mail is laid out, and not with your e-mail client or JAWS.

Hi. OK, so I have downloaded the slack application and the scripts
and I still have a few questions.

1) If I want to compose a nessage and attach a file to the message,
how do I do it? In my web browser, there is a file button below the
send message button, with the slack app and the scripts, there seems
to be no way to do this.

2) Using the scripts, it reads the message contents and if I press
left bracket followed by 6, the content is read, more of it, but how
do I go to any links mentioned in that content.

Thanks.

Yes, I use it daily in my job as well. If you arrow around the screen, I think there are a lot of unnecessary buttons, etc. that get read, but maybe I could customize JAWS to work better with it.

I don’t know if you will have this issue, but sometimes if I try to navigate to the edit box where you type in a message using the “E” key, it actually types the “E” at the start of my message instead of finding the edit field. So I have gotten in the habit of listening for that and erasing it once I am in the edit field.

Good luck,

I found it pretty accessible with iPhone, but now os much on pc.

Of course, that was a year and a half ago, and when I saw that the iPhone worked, I didn't even bother with the pc.

Yes it’s accessible. The only thing I seem to have trouble with is opening links that gets sent through there. At least I’ve had trouble doing that with my iPhone. Does anyone know how to do that, open links in Slack?

I use it on a daily basis.

You may wanna do a search for slack shortcut keys to at least become a little familiar with it.

Hey folks,

I have a job interview coming up, but they use Slack as their platform of choice. It’s a text interview, which explains probably why MS Teams is out. How useable/accessible is Slack with JAWS? Anything I need to know before going in? If it helps, I’m on latest version. Thanks in advance.

And you'd be right, at least in your case, since it's happened repeatedly.   BIOS is firmware (which is a somewhat more generic term) so you're absolutely right that when you see an update mentioning firmware on a PC the first thing that should enter your mind is BIOS/UEFI.  But it appears that different BIOS/UEFI systems handle the updates differently.  I haven't yet done one on a system on which the Function Key function reverted to media keys/smart keys, but I have no doubt that those reporting that change are reporting accurately.  There have been quite a few BIOS/firmware updates on the HP and Toshiba machines I'm dealing with in my household, as well as a number of same on client computers, but no one has called me saying their function keys reverted (but, of course most my sighted clients have never changed the media/smart behavior back to straight function keys, but I have on several laptops).
