And for 98% of people even your computer is over-spect. As Brian pointed out, most users get buy with something quite basic and therre is little reason why most people should spend more than $800 or $1,000 on a computer. I personally am very fond of very small form factor Mini PC's for my retail store, I especially like the HP EliteDesk 800 series, I think current is maybe the G4 or G5. These are about 7 inches square and a couple inches thick, they can take I think up to 32 Gb of RAM where 8 or 16 is more than enough for most and they can take a couple of SSD's if you think you need more than one. Again, I think money is better spend on a computer with a 512 Gb SSD and if you want reliable storage invest in a 2or 4 disk NAS like a Synology 218+ or, this is the one I have for my business, a 918+. Put in whichever size drive you need, there is little point in having 12 Tb of storage if all you ever need is 2 or 3 Tb. Don't buy a cruise ship if all you need is a canoe.

Hi, I concur with Brian and others who pointed out that it is important to think about purposes of getting a new computer and choose specs based on them. I myself have settled on a ThinkPad for the next laptop due to the reputation of its keyboard, as I sought a writer’s machine with decent specs (not the top of the line). If I read Jim’s initial request correctly, he wants a machine for music production and related tasks. For these, I think a decent Intel I5 or I7 would suffice (four to six cores), or a cheaper alternative being a mid-range AMD Ryzen (3 or 5 should be enough). Apart from RAM (8 to 16 GB should be enough for music production needs), what’s more important for music professionals is the quality of the sound card (internal sound cards may work, but if one wants to get into heavy music production, add-on cards (PCI Express) or mixers are preferred, and you must factor that when purchasing this particular system). Cheers, Joseph

Once you move to the first file it's already selected, so pressing the

need to keep the control key held down and tap the spacebar on each file you
want to select. When you're down selecting you let up on the control key
and then either cut, copy or move the selected files.

Hi, Cristóbal. You don't need to copy a blank line to the clipboard to clear it. Just use CONTROL plus C the first time you want to copy something to the clipboard, and Windows will ask you if you want to overwrite the clipboard. If you answer Yes, the clipboard will be overwritten, and only the last thing you copied to the clipboard will be in the clipboard. Then you can resume using INSERT plus WINDOWS key plus C to append to that first item.

If you want to append multiple items to the clipboard with Jaws, it would be insert+Windows key+C. The you could then do the layered command insert+space bar then C to view the multiple items copied. The only thing with appending multiple items, is that you you have to get into the habit of selecting and copying a blank space first. Kind of like clearing the clipboard. Otherwise, you’ll have a bunch of copied stuff you don’t’ want.

The green, yellow, blue marckers aren’t shown with jaws I suppose.

Alan, Thanks. That looks like a cool little program. I cannot install that here at work, but I’ll look at it for home use.

Hi Robin,
I’m not well-versed in the Windows 10 clipboard capabilities since I’ve only had Windows 10 for a little over a couple of weeks. I would recommend you consider installing the Ditto clipboard manager to your computer. Ditto will let you do everything you requested and you’re able to set the number of copied clips it retains for later perusal and pasting. I have mine set to store the last 500. By default, you can access previous Ditto clips by pressing ctrl + tilde and you can then arrow through those clips to press enter to paste it wherever focus is located on your computer. I especially like that you can press shift + enter when focus is on a Ditto clip and instead of pasting it with its original formatting, it will be pasted as plain text and assume the formatting of the location where it’s pasted.
If you’re interested, Ditto can be downloaded from this site:

Here’s a sample scenario I’d like help with. I’ll copy a paragraph of text in one program that I need to move to another. As I’m moving to that other document, I’ll notice something and accidentally copy another item to the clipboard. Is there a way to still access the first paragraph I had copied without having to go back to the original location, reselect the text, and re-copy it? That is, does the clipboard retain more than just the most recently copied item and can I access the history? Using Windows 10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.867), Office 365, and JAWS 2021.
