Just a note to those who apparently had difficulties downloading.
You may already know this but perhaps it is worth repeating.
With Google Chrome under Windows at least you will be initially blocked from downloading any file with a executable extension I find.
This will happen even if the DropBox link ends in 1 to facilitate direct download.
The solution is easy however.
Find any open Google Chrome page - it may say untitled.
Press control J to open the downloads page.
This will open a list of all your downloads.
Find the relevant download - and then cursor or tab right and the focus will be on Discard because Google will say it is a risk because it is an executable.
Tab to keep and press enter on that.
Then annoyingly Google will insist on a further warning and you have to tab to Keep anyway and press enter on that.
The download will now complete.

Hi Mark,

The first search result I saw when I did a Google search for the exact phrase in your subject "shortcut keys for navigating a list box",  gave me the following:

#973 – Keyboard Shortcuts for a ListBox

DECEMBER 17, 2013 1 COMMENT

You can use any of the following keyboard shortcuts when interacting with a ListBox at run-time (this assumes that the ListBox has keyboard focus):

Up/Down arrow keys – move to previous /next item

Page Up / Page Down – move to item on previous / next page (based on size of ListBox)

Home / End – move to first / last item in last

Enter single character – move to next item that begins with that character

Enter sequence of characters – move to next item that begins with that sequence

If the SelectionMode is Single or Extended

Moving to another item selects it (and unselects previous)

Spacebar – select the current item (if not already selected)

Ctrl + Spacebar – unselect the current item

If the SelectionMode is Multiple

Moving to another item does not select it

Spacebar toggles current item as selected/unselected

If the SelectionMode is Extended

Holding down the Shift key while moving to another item adds to selection

Best regards,

Sieghard

Now to get information on exactly what I need to use this program. Do I need Caliper separately?

I agree with Richard. If you are not inviting anyone else on the recurring appointment, you can easily edit your appointmen for the given day, either adding the name of the client to the appointment title or to the location field. For example, you might edit the title to say "Intake: Jane Doe" or you can edit the location to say "Call Jane Doe". I do this if my manager and I have agreed to discuss a particular topic at our next weekly meeting. This is easier for me than having to open the notes section of the meeting to see our primary topic and it reminds us both at a glance what topic we need to be prepared to discuss."

Hello,

on my work laptop, I am using Jaws 2020, with Office 365.

I have to schedule intakes on my calendar, so here is my question.

I do intake interviews as part of my work, and they are recurring appointments but with new applicants every week but at the same time.

If I set up the appointments in the Office 365 calendar, I can't seem to view the individual names, for the respective days.

In other words, my calendar might look like this.

Intake 9 AM

Intake 10 AM.

Intake 11 AM

Intake 12 PM

But, I need these appointments to occur every week. If I set up the recurring appointment, I cannot figure out how to see the different names, from week to week, during that scheduled time slot.

Thanks.

You can read through the release notes for 2020 and 2021 to see if features look valuable to you.  My view is that I need the current version to be sure JAWS keeps up with changes in web browsers, Office products, etc.  Also, there are new features that are useful to me.  For example, I’m getting ready to install the latest update to JAWS 2021 because I really want the new feature that allows you to change JAWS volume on the fly.  This will be so helpful, given all the online video conferences and YouTube videos I am now needing to do. It’s a pain to go into voice adjustment to turn down or up JAWS when a video volume is out of balance with JAWS.  Improvements to Picture Smart and Convenient OCR are also a value to me.

Yes, it is important to upgrade  your JAWS and I hope you have a  an annual subscription   plan to keep  it upgraded. I do that all the time so it saves us a lot of money plus  to keep JAWS  running smoothly.

I have the most  current  version of JAWS  2021.

Hi John,

Appreciating what you say about money not being an issue, but upgrading JAWS becomes more expensive the further away you are from current. So upgrading JAWS 2019 to the latest version will become more expensive when the new version comes out, around October as you suggest.

At some point, it would become cheaper for you to buy a new version of JAWS outright using one of the convention special offers in the summer.

If you’re in the US, you might also want to subscribe to the annual licence so that you always have the latest version.

Cheers,

Ed
