Hi John,

Yes, it is important to upgrade  your JAWS and I hope you have a  an annual subscription   plan to keep  it upgraded. I do that all the time so it saves us a lot of money plus  to keep JAWS  running smoothly.

I have the most  current  version of JAWS  2021.

Hi John,

Appreciating what you say about money not being an issue, but upgrading JAWS becomes more expensive the further away you are from current. So upgrading JAWS 2019 to the latest version will become more expensive when the new version comes out, around October as you suggest.

At some point, it would become cheaper for you to buy a new version of JAWS outright using one of the convention special offers in the summer.

If you’re in the US, you might also want to subscribe to the annual licence so that you always have the latest version.

Cheers,

Ed

So, in order to minimize list traffic, please reply to me directly at

Basically, my question is does anyone know of an accessible online monthly calendaring system that I can use to coordinate activities for an amateur radio organization of which I’m a Board member.

The events I coordinate occur weekly, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12 noon local time, during each month of the year.

Right now, as I develop my monthly calendar, I put the calendar in a Microsoft word document format, and e-mail it out to those who need to respond.  They then e-mail me back, telling me which dates they can take for a given event.  After receiveing everyone’s information, I then update my calendar, and send the updated document out to all concerned.

While this actually has worked quite well, I’m thinking more and more that it would be nice to do something like this online, so that people could sign up for their preferred dates, and the most current information could be available to everyone.

I took a look at signup genius

https://www.signupgenius.com/,

but that app seems like much more than what I need, and appears to have basic accessibility issues with Jaws.

I’m looking for something relatively simple that could be completed online, and that then could be saved in a text or .doc format, after which I could emboss the final monthly calendar in Braille.

I’m using Windows 10 here with the latest version of Jaws 2021.  I also have Microsoft 365, which I know has a calendaring function.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I did that when I was working.
There are two ways to approach this in my opinion.
You can set a repeating appointment titled Intake to repeat weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Then, when you have a name, edit that dates appointment, and apply it to only that date and not the series.
Or, Schedule the repeating appointment the same way, but have it set as Free rather than Busy, then add a separate appointment for the person on that date and time, so you'll have two appointments at the same time, one as Intake, and one with the person's name.
Either way, it is a bit of a pain.

"Why, what did she tell you?"
"I don't know, I didn't listen."

If I set up the appointments in the Office 365 calendar, I can't seem to view the individual names, for the respective days.

In other words, my calendar might look like this.

Intake 9 AM

Intake 10 AM.

Intake 11 AM

Intake 12 PM

But, I need these appointments to occur every week. If I set up the recurring appointment, I cannot figure out how to see the different names, from week to week, during that scheduled time slot.

Thanks.

Thanks for the information. Who knows what causes the issue. are the computers by any chance using Invidia drivers? The laptop this is happening on is using both intel and Invidia drivers so I’m wondering if it’s something to do with the Invidia driver. My desktop uses the Intel drivers only and has no issues.

Hi,

Yes, I have had this issue for some time and more than one version of JAWS.  Occurs on my desktop and laptop.

Sometimes F11 works fine and other times not so well.  I find that if I try a 2nd time it often works.

Sorry no fixes here or particular reason just to let you know you’re not alone with this one.

Hello. I seem to be having a problem with the system tray dialog in jaws 2021. When I press insert f11 I do get the list of items but when I press enter on one of them, the system right clicks somewhere on the desktop instead of the system trey and the item I have selected. It’s as if I’m right clicking on an empty spot on the desktop instead of the item I’m wanting to right click on in the system tray. Has anyone had this issue? If so, how was it fixed or could it be fixed. Thanks

All existing versions of Outlook, including 365, use the code base for Outlook 2016, so Go Contact Sync Mod works with them.  This could change with the next generation of Office 365/Office 2021 if there is a substantial change in the code base.  Only time will tell.
