Keno is a different game. I think it is more like bingo, or "lotto" as it is sometimes called in french. The OP didn't really specify much about what he was looking for specifically -- I'm sure there are hundreds of keno variants online, but as to which ones might bea ccessible, I have no idea.

Hi all.

Looking for a free gaming game called "Keno" which is screen reader
accessible.

I have the Kitchens Inc Casino, but no Keno.

I have an Iphone, not good at all with it,and a desktop computer using
Jaws 2021.

If need be, is there a App called Keno from somewhere like
apple which is screen reader friendly, which I may try to waddle my way
through?

Many years ago there was a site which is no longer screen reader
friendly, called OMNI which jaws was friendly. with. Also

There was one available from , pardon me on this...Maybe PCI, or
something like that, but that has folded down.

Any thoughts by you fellow gamers, on where or how?

Thanks,

With firefox

(1) with the link in question focused bring up the context menu then
choose "Copy link location",
(2)on the desktop click on an area not occupied by an icon, bring up
the context menu and select New->Shortcut
(3) It may not be focused but there will now be a "Create shortcut"
wizard, in the target edit field hit ctrl+v to paste the saved link,
then give it a name in the name field and hit the Finish button.

JAWS is based almost entirely on its scripts. If you don't get any extra
ones from the internet or elsewhere, you are just using ones that come witht
eh software -- there are many, pretty much all the applications that are
listed in the help topics for jaws have got a script set, and since that
application help is not updated too often, they have probably added more
recently, too that I'm not aware of.
Third-party scripts are just that, third-party scripts, based on the same
principle.
The Symphony scripts are a part of the JFW software. I don't know if anyone
has created third-party scripts...if not, then that is probably the best you
will get. That doesn't mean the scripts haven't been updated since the days
of Symphony (a really long time ago); just that Symphony is a generic
catch-all term now for everything under the Open Office model/umbrella.

Hi!

I am using JAWS 2020, Windows 10 and Libre Office 7.1 (LO).  Natively, JAWS
points to the “Symphony” application for the script set it uses for LO.
Given the many years that have lapsed since Symphony was active and the
commensurate progression of LO, is there a better application script set for
to point to; maybe even just “Default?”  if so, how do you go about making
that change?

Thanks,

Richard

I am not sure about Chrome or Firefox. However, Microsoft Edge has a
feature called emersive reader. You click the f9 key and you can either
scroll down to the beginning of an article and read using the screen
reader or click on the read outloud feature and a female TTS voice will
read the article without the adds. You should be able to copy and paste
the article if you want to do so.

Van Lant, Robin

Shirley,

I just did a very similar thing with a large Word document of JAWS shortcuts and help information.  I first had the document that I’ve been adding to over time. I added headings, which I planned to use to jump around with JAWS quick key navigation turned on.  I then took someone’s suggestion and used Word’s feature to build a table of contents. Each of these line items in the table of contents is a hyperlink to the respective heading.

To break it down a bit more, I set up my document with level one headings to separate notes on using JAWS with various software programs, such as Excel. I then used level 3 headings to categorize sections of notes under that Excel heading.  Select the text  you want to make a heading and use Control Alt 1 for a level 1 heading, Control Alt 2 for level 2 and, Control Alt 3 or level 3 headings.  Once you have those in place, go to the References ribbon. The first option on the lower ribbon is for Table of Contents and I used the first choice on that drop down to create an automatic table of contents.  I have found that the table does not automatically update if I add a new heading on the document. So far, it seems that the best way to update the table of contents is to put focus back in the table of contents and use that same button on the References ribbon.

You may also want to save the file as a PDF when you send it to your family, ensuring that they don’t’ accidentally tweak your work.

Kudos to you for  the work on this.

I’m trying to write our family history, and my grown children don’t want it printed. They want me to send them the document so they can simply read it online. I have a table of contents and would like to create a link from each content to the section it references. Is this too convoluted, or is it simple enough for me to accomplish?

HiSieghard,

Of course, as requested, I ran the report, sent it to them, provided my email and followed up to insure that they got it.

As I am sure you have seen from my previous emails, a technical rep in vespero itself admitted to having this problem also.

I would say, that for the vast majority of people on this forum, they have windows home edition, which as you know, does not have the group policy editor as part of it.

Correct me if I am wrong.

As a result, if this problem is related to group policies, which clearly it is not, there would be no way to fix it on a home edition.

You are right in that unloading and reloading is not a huge thing, but if I am paying for a product, I expect it to work correctly.

There is absolutely no excuse for poor development of a product!!

I was a software developer for over 25 years, and when a problem was reported to me, I either fixed it directly, or it was fixed in the next release of the software.

Hopefully you were able to run the technical support tool so Jaws can in fact try and get a better handle on this, after all, if it affects so few people those who are affected need to do their part.

Of course unloading and reloading Jaws is a work-around which doesn't require you to go out of your way that much, another one might be to run Narrator when Windows starts, i.e. at the logon screen, and to see if that fixes the issue.

A few years ago one of my 4 computers at my store (it was an identical model to one of my others) would not let me read the Windows Start menu with Jaws, nor Settings or any Windows apps like Calculator. If I went into settings Jaws would just be absolutely silent, visually I could move through the categories and if I arrowed right, for example, 3 times and pressed enter Network and Internet would open, but as I said, Jaws would not make a peep.

This went on for over a year and any time I had to do anything in Settings on that computer I had to unload Jaws and use Narrator. Then at one point I read something on a list, can't remember which one, where somebody had this issue and they had figured out the solution. The problem was that for some reason a setting in Group Policy Editor (this was a Windows pro version) had been changed. It took me all of 20 seconds to change it back and from then on all was well, Jaws read everything fine again. I may have made a note somewhere what this was, but I can't remember now and don't feel like digging around to look it up, but this goes to show how one small little setting can make a huge difference and cause a pretty major headache for a very small number of people.

Best regards,

Sieghard

Hi Mike,

Sorry, it was the original topic.

When jaws starts up, you cannot get at the menus.

You have to unload and reload it.

When jaws is set to start at the logon screen and to start for this user, insert+j or any other key is not available to get at the menus.

When you unload and reload it, it works just fine.

When I started the topic, I had a huge rant about it!!

You will see it from the start.

It doesn’t happen to everyone, in fact, I have only found two other people that it happens to.

Nevertheless, it is a bug, and should be fixed, given the amount of money we pay for the product.

As you can see from my previous post, this has been confirmed by Vispero.

Regards and stay safe,
