Good evening everyone, 

Is their a particular setting or checkbox that says, lower the volume of other programs or applications while Jaws is speaking?  If so, can someone please point me in the right direction on where to go find this setting, or  where this setting or checkbox can be found?

When the whole table is selected, and that's what you must do if you want the changes to be applied across all cells, when the context menu is invoked it should contain the AutoFit Item, which has three choices when activated:  AutoFit to Contents, AutoFit to Window, and Fixed Width.

Once the context menu is up, hitting A followed by F should do a Fit to Contents for every cell in the table.  Were you to want Window, the character after A would be W, and fixed width it would be X.

Well, try insert+z once the store opens and then you can navigate by headings or links, though all I'm finding are games and free apps.
But, at least it is more than "button."

When defining the table, or afterward, you need to make sure that the "autofit to contents" option is set for all cells in the table under the AutoFit option, and that up in the paragraph formatting area that you have center justification selected for all cells as well.

I generally select the whole table, do the Autofit setting, unselect the table then select the whole thing again, then apply the text centering in paragraph.  You can try doing both, and it will often work just fine, but sometimes not.  If it does, you've lost nothing by trying to kill both birds with one stone, and if it doesn't, and you apply those settings in the order I've mentioned, you know that it's the centering in the cell that you need to apply after having selected the table again.

The above applies regardless of the version of Word/Office.  These are table formatting tasks in Word.  They also have nothing to do with what particular screen reader one might be using at the time.

Hi,

I've noticed something with the new jaws update.

The automatic read doesn''t work correctly.

Jaws reads 1 or 2 lines and stops.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Shirley, I have never heard of an Office version not including Outlook. I would call Microsoft Accessiblity about that, this just does not seem right.

I bought Office 2019 from MS via a phone call. Only it doesn’t include Outlook, which was on your list of what you use. I’m told Office 19 is the last app you can pay upfront with no expiration date on it. They explained that All higher versions have either a monthly fee or a yearly fee. I guess that tells you how long it has been since I purchased my Office 2016.

This is probably not for here, but i thought i would ask anyway.

I am at home, so a basic version of office does me fine.

I only use outlook for emails, word for basic documents and excel for basic spreadsheets.

I have been using office 2007, and it does me just fine.

However, as expected, eventually, jaws is having trouble with this because it is so old.

Does anyone know where i could get maybe office 2010 2013 etc?

I don’t need the latest office 365 or anything like that.

I cannot find anywhere on the ms web site that might sell it either, as they just want you to buy the latest.

Any help would be appreciated.

documents? If so, while in the list tab once to 'name' and whack
enter. The order will be reversed.
