I did some web searching for Libreoffice accessibility mail list, and found the archives to the list you are referring to and the most recent archives which are way, way down the page are for February 2021.  The link to the archives is below.

It is not clear to me how you would subscribe,

But I’d try again with the word Subscribe in the subject field and send it to:

accessibility@...

Here is the archives link.

Hi!

Is there some sort of support group, like this one, for LibreOffice?  From their information, they said to subscribe to accessibility@....  I did this several times several days ago, but never received any kind of confirmation nor failure email message in return - nothing.  This makes me think that whatever group may have been there in the past is now defunct.  So, is there something else?

Thanks,

Richard

Sounds complicated.  The interesting thing is with Zoom some sighted persons cannot tell if they are muted or not.  The host is constantly telling them to mute themselves.  Myself, I just do the alt A command to find out if, indeed I am muted. Apparently there is a microphone in the taskbar, if it has a line through it, you are muted.  No line through and you are live.  Be careful what you say, everyone can hear what you really think of the presenter.  LOL.

Hi,

The most friendly and compact browser i have found based on chrome is called brave.
It acts exactly like google chrome, edge, etc. If you want to get to the favourites menu using this browser, all you have to do is keep pressing the f6 key until you get to the menu.
After that, you can use first letter navigation to find what you want.
If you have only one thing beginning with "s" for example, as soon as you press "s" that web page will load.
If you have two things beginning with "s" you will land on the first one.
Hitting enter will then load this page.
Otherwise, you can down arrow to the next "s" entry.
As chrome based browsers go, i have found this to be very secure, compact and lite on computer resources and space.
You can also add/remove as many or few extensions as you like.
It also gives a much better reading on things like speed tests.
Edge keeps changing too much for me to use.
Once you get used to something in edge, they change it.
My advice, install brave and try it.
You also have the option to keep what you have, or upgrade on the next build.
It is not forced on you like edge is.

Pat

Hi,

I wish one could use first-letter navigation to browse favourites, just
like in Chrome itself with their bookmarks feature.

The way it currently works is a bit time-consuming, using
control+shift+o, then waiting for the tree view to gain focus.

Hi all,
Can someone please tell me how to stop emails from going into my Spam folder?
I've added the sender's address to my contacts, but it's still happening. Using Office 365 with a gmail address, the latest Jaws 2021, and Windows 10 version 20h2. Thanks Madison

If it's already in the Dev version than it's I guess a step closer to being in a public release, I hadn't checked because on another list I was told it was part of the Canary build.

You can if you install the Edge Canari build and if you don't want to do that then just wait a bit longer as I am sure this will be available in a public release in the next few weeks or couple of months.

The search function you describe is in Edge Dev, too, and all it amounts to is what you said, automatic invocation of the search function.  That search function actually exists in the current production Edge, too, but does not have automatic invocation.  You've got to fire it up using the search control that shows up after you've hit CTRL+SHIFT+O.

It is a great convenience, that's for certain, but it's currently available with an extra step to fire it up.

I'll say it again:  Ideally, when you have an e-mail service that has server-side filtering, and Gmail does, you should do your filtering (or corrections to their filtering), on the server side so that no matter what device or devices you're using they'll all have had the same treatment on the messages before they ever even see them.

Creating IMAP Labels (Folders) and Filters for Gmail

And that's whether you use an email client for reading or Gmail webmail client for reading.  The power is in using the server side to handle everything correctly before any client ever sees it.  It also has the advantage that if you decide to ditch a specific e-mail client, get a new computer, get a smartphone or tablet and start reading email from it, that you don't have to touch anything again to have your filtering remain just exactly as you want it.

I’m in twice a week meetings and have used zoom since the inception of the meetings via zoom in March 020.  The controls are simple, Alt A to mute or unmute yourself, Alt V to turn on or off your video etc. I have no idea about teams as I’ve either used facetime, skype or Zoom.  Now Facetime or zoom is my primary source of internet communication when I cannot call them without incurring long distance charges on my iPhone.  .

if using JAWS 2019 or earlier, you'll have to download and install the free scripts from Brian Hartgen's site( hartgen.org).
JAWS 2020 and newer already include the scripts.

Both are usable. However, I find that Zoom is more practical with Jaws
because the scripts that have been written for it with Jaws.

In your junk/spam folder, use the applications key or shift-f10 on the message, press the letter j for junk options, then arrow to not junk, and hit enter.
It should ask you, do you want to trust email from xxx, and there is a check box to check.
Hit enter,
and that person's email should stop going to spam.
There are other options in that junk options you may also want to use at times.
