Do you have an Internet connection that is working? That is, have you tried unplugging and plugging your modem and router? I'm assuming where you are eMailing from is not the computer in question. And I wonder if that yearly subscription of Jaws needs a working Internet connection to work. Glenn

do you have windows 10? if so press control windows plus enter to start narrator. if you can navigate windows and everything works correctly then it's a jaws issue. if narrator starts but if windows is not working correctly at least then you can use the narrator to help troubleshoot the problem if narrator doesn't work and nothing else happens you're going to need sided assistance or do a complete reinstall using narrator with windows 10. Question about OneNote, & saving things
Jessica D <jldail13@...>
Hi,
I’m in the process of trying to apply for college.
In the state of Michigan, where I live, they came out with a program where indeviduals 25-years or older, can get a free associate’s degree.
I’m on Humanware’s website, looking at potential jobs, so I know what kind of degree I’ll need, in order to have the job I’m looking at.
I selected the relevant text, & wanted to put just that text into OneNote.I’m fully aware that you can clip articles, full pages, & a few other things into OneNote, but is it possible to save just a selected portion of text? If so, how do I go about doing it?
Thanks,
Jessica Dail

to answer your question as another way to restart JAWS, you could press control+alt+j if you have assigned a hotkey to the desktop shortcut.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
also you can press insert+alt+f4 and wait to see if JAWS eventually restarts. this takes a bit shorter than pressing alt+f4 and then control+alt+j.

Be sure to turn off the virtual cursor with insert-z. if that doesn't help, turn it back on again. sometimes it makes a difference and sometimes it doesn't.
There is a whole list of Google docs shortcuts. this is copied from a tcsaccess.com webinar transcript: turn on accessibility · Navigate to Tools menu with Alt + T · Press Up or Down Arrow to navigate to Accessibility Settings · Press Tab to Screen Reader Support · Press Space to check the box · Press Tab to the OK button · Press Space to confirm the OK button List with two items. Turn on screen reader support check box not checked. reader support turned on. So I'm pressing the space bar. And as I continue to tabBen: In this case I would want the screen items. Turn on Braille support. Check box.Learn more about the list with two Braille display. Just kind of a heads up, even though you might get access to certain keystrokes such as say line or being able to announce the current font attributes, you might lose some access to other keystrokes such as being able to quickly identify a graphic and potentially select that graphic regardless of which screen reader you're using. The just kind of a heads up of the trade off as you tooling to turn on Braille support on and off.Ben: Turn on supportive you're using a At 08:15 AM 2/4/2021, you wrote: After you turn on Accessability, how do you go about accessing Accessability Settings?

AThere is a menu accessed with, I think, alt. Arrowing right should make it findable. I don't remember exactly. There is a good JAWS webinar on the FS sight, and an even better one on TCSaccess.com.

Thanks, Ed, that's really helpful! For some reason I often don't think to check the JAWS help files, but they're usually pretty good. I've still not figured out a way to work with the built-in Windows 10 Mail application that works consistently and well, I guess I'll try to stick to Outlook in the future.

Reading Googledocs with JAWS
Rick Miller
Dear Listers:
I am trying to read a document from my church that was sent in Googledocs, but I am finding that when I read it I can only do so line-by-line, meaning I have to press the Down Arrow key after every line. The JAWS Say All command will not work. Is there a way using JAWS that I can read something in Googledocs straight through, as if I were using the Say All command in other documents?

Good evening everyone,
I’m writing this message, because it’s a long time coming. Their a few members on this list, that have taken the time out of there schedules too answer questions that I have posted regarding Jaws. Those of you who did, know who you are, and therefor, I shouldn’t post their names publically on this forum.
Please know that I would like too say thanks, and it is always appreciated,
