I heard a podcast interview around a year ago either from blind abilities or Jonathan Mosen where they interviewed one of the developers of that statistical program. He went through how to use it etc. and I believe he also provided some contact information. You may want to look at past episodes of blind abilities and you may be able to locate that particular interview.

JAWS does not read any of the menus or anything else really, though IBM's knowledge base seems to suggest that it should. If anyone has experienced these crashes, or has expertise in managing the Java Access Bridge, I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Maria,
If you know how to move a message, you should be able to mark the items not as spam. In the same context menu as move, you will find some thing labeled junk (I apologize that I do not know the shortcut keys). Once you highlight junk press enter. I believe four options will appear and what you want is to select never block sender‘s domain. A dialog box will appear and all you will need to do is tap through it until you select OK. At that point all groups that I owe should stay in your inbox instead of going to the junk email folder.
The other issue could be your own Internet service provider. I have an old Hotmail style email address and it will not except most groups that I owe addresses. Even if I do the above procedure, it still will not except new groups.io emails. As a result, I created another email address and most groups that I owe messages I receive go to that email without any issues.

Hi, I don't believe that this can be a Jaws problem. Normally you have to go into the email service and mark them not a spam. This can be done on the iPhone very easy. And I believe in outlook easy as well. I haven't done it on outlook.

Hi Jim,

Did you try the following:

Go to change user account control settings by pressing the windows key and typing “user account” and pressing enter

Tab over to notification level and down arrow to 0

Alt F4 from the user account control settings and you should be able to finish installing JAWS

Virtualize the cursor with insert alt 2.

You can copy everything then.

Use escape to get out of the virtualized window when you are ready too.

One desktop short cutfor all of your email accounts in Outlook, asBrian
noted. Did you find a fast and simple way to toggle between accounts? Note
that each email account is level zero in a tree. Hitting control Y gets you
to the folder tree list. Just arrow up to your current email account (at
the top of the tree) and hit your left arro until it is at level zero and
closed. Then arrow up or down to find the account you want and hit enter.
Voila - the new in box shows up.

I find this method preferable to going to the menus.

The desktop shortcut for Outlook opens Outlook.  There are not separate shortcuts for specific accounts.

Accounts are managed within Outlook itself, and you can have as many accounts defined within Outlook as you wish.

It could depend on your e-mail service provider or on Outlook's spam filtering or a combination of both.

If you want to eliminate Outlook from the equation then create a rule that makes sure that anything from the groups.io domain (has groups.io in the from address) is never sent to spam.

If your email service provider is classifying groups.io messages as spam then they need to be contacted and told to whitelist groups.io.  All groups.io messages are sent to someone for one and only one reason:  they subscribed.  They cannot, by definition, be spam because they are never unsolicited.  You can unsubscribe or go to nomail status at any time of your choosing.

The Visual C++ error is in a different window.  Try tabbing around before closing the JAWS install.  Once my install hit 50 percent, the error was sitting in another window.

Are you getting a Microsoft Visual C++ error?

This is the error I was getting.  After providing a few different log files to Freedom Scientific, as well as using speech history to provide them with the Visual C++ error, they provided me with instructions to fix Microsoft Visual C++, which was the real problem preventing the Jaws 2021 install.

I don’t know if this is the same issue you are having, or if the solution that worked for me would work for your 2020 and 2019 JAWS install problems.
