Press alt-f, then t for options, a for advanced. Tab about five times to "allow editing in cells" and be sure it is *not checked.

Re: Since most recent Jaws update

An interesting twist. The issue occurs on my Dell laptop but not on my HP desktop. Both running Windows 10 and JAWS 2021. Laptop is using spring 2020 Windows 10 and desktop fall edition of Windows 10. Other than that systems are close in processor and memory. Both utilize on board sound cards however desktop has some memory dedicated to audio.

Using a hardware syn, I do not receive these mentioned clicks. Obviously an issue with Jaws and elequence or other software syns.

As I think I said in an earlier post, I still occasionally get the clicks with voice assistant disabled as well.

Just a thought, I do not have this issue and also I do not have “sharkie” enabled. Do others with this problem have “sharkie” enabled and if so could there be a connection between this and other “Sharkie” issue that are occurring with MS Word?

Let me clarify: I hear the “pop” or “tap” whenever I am in a Microsoft app, primarily Word documents, Mail, and such. I’m using Office 2016.

From: Shirley Tracy via groups.io
I thought it was my computer. I’ve been hearing a click now and then, not necessarily with mail only but with several programs I’m using. It isn’t annoying, but it can be distracting when you’re wondering if something is wrong. What I’m hearing sounds more like a tiny pop or tap.
(I would have never admitted it until others mentioned it.)
Cheerfully,

Hi, all. Ever since updating to the latest update to Jaws 2021, whenever I launch Outlook 365 on my desktop pc and my laptop pc from the desktop shortcuts, I hear a click when Outlook opens. When Outlook opens I hear a click when the words opening Outlook is spoken. I tried a Jaws repair on both machines and the click sill persists. This anomaly is not annoying but it is noticeable. I am running Windows 10 h2 pro on my desktop pc and Windows 10 h2 home edition on my laptop. I am using my preferred Eloquence synthesizer. Thanks.

Have you separated the display from the note taker?
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
My guess is the display is too old to be supported, but you may need to call FS on Monday.

Hi,
I would check to see what is going on with your USB port in the device manager in Windows 10. Let me know if you need help finding the device manager.

Someone gave me this braille display and I’ve managed to get it up and running as far as the Windows mobile usage is concerned. But I really want to be able to do braille display of my desktop PC running Windows 10. I have it connected via USB but the computer doesn’t seem to acknowledge it from what I can tell. The device is running off the power from the port and I know the cable works as I use it for my old Book Port Plus. I’ve tried to tell JAWS that a Pac Mate is there in the braille settings by adding a display but it just never selects it (keeps switching back to no display). As I’m on Windows 10, ActiveSync install is impossible (stopped support at XP). And google has failed me so far for any details other that the ActiveSync companion CD had some USB driver bundled with it for the device. No sign of that driver either.
It just seems to be such a waste for a usable braille display that is still serviceable as a hosted display if the PDA part is not so useful now.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

I use it on my PC Desktop. I don’t get online. On my Desktop there is a shortcut to Spotify. I hit the Enter key and the Spotify application pops up. I guess you could say that might be the web version.

The best app to use for that that matches dollar for dollar for current value of currency is transfer wise arrives and only 3 to 8 minutes plus low fees. It’s better than PayPal PayPal does not give you an exact market value of the currency

Bizarrely just a couple of days after sending a Support message to FS Windows Mail seems, touch wood, to have stabilised with Jaws. I am typing this email in Mail with Jaws, something I have not been able to do for weeks. I don’t know if it is anything to do with the new January update, though the first few times I checked this out Mail continues to crash with Jaws running anyway. Apparently no longer. . Alternatively there might have been some unseen update on Windows I suppose. The only thing I have been doing differently is that I had routinely also had thunderbird open in another window because of the propensity of Mail to crash with Jaws. However I have just closed thunderbird and Mail is continuing to work with Jaws so it looks like it is not related.. Before I report this apparent improvement I wonder if the other people experiencing problems with Mail have also seen the problem resolved? David G. Sent from Mail for Windows 10

Do Any Of You Out There Use Spotify?
Rick Miller
Dear Listers:
I have recently downloaded Spotify. I have learned how to create a playlist in Spotify, but I do not know how to add something to the playlist using JAWS. Every place I go to to try to figure out how to do it keeps just saying to either drag or drop what you want to add or else click the button next to the selection or song. I need the help of someone who knows how to use Spotify and who knows how to use JAWS in connection with it. I am using Windows 10 and am using the latest version of JAWS. Please help.

Moving in cell in Excel
kevin meyers
Hello, The other day I worked with Microsoft Accessibility to fix Windows10. I’m using the most recent version of Jaws2021 and Excel 2016. Since then I will be in Excel, press F2 to edit a cell and I cannot arrow left or right. It acts like there is only one word in the cell. I cannot even copy what is in the cell by selecting and then copying. Most cells have this problem and a few do not. What can I do to correct this problem? Thanks, Kevin
