Yes, make sure you include the version numbers of the programs involved, e.g.
Jaws 2021, Windows 10, Office 2013, even better is to be specific as to which
Jaws build you use, the exact version of Windows which you can find by typing
"WinVer" into the Run or Windows search box and also the exact Outlook version,
you can get it by opening Outlook and pressing Jaws Key + Control + V, if you
press it twice quickly it will be in a virtual window where you can highlight it
and simply copy and paste it into your email.
Then describe exactly what you are doing and what issue you have.

Subject: Jaws 2021 question/problem

Hi all,
I upgraded to Jaws 2021 almost 2 weeks ago now and I have a problem that
I've
noticed. When I go to my favourites list in Edge, or when I go into
contacts in
Outlook, or start a new message in Outlook type a letter and then do ctrl k
to
bring up a list of addresses starting with that letter, Jaws will only read
a
few items and then stop speaking. When this happens in favourites I have to
alt
tab to something else and then alt tab back and then Jaws will start reading
again, but then stops speaking again after reading a few more items. When
this
happens in Outlook I have to go to the bottom of the list of addresses
starting
with that letter or the end of my contacts and then arrow up and Jaws will
read
a few more and then stop speaking again. Now when I upgraded I was asked if
I
wanted to import settings or something like that and I said yes, though I
don't
recall having any settings set that have anything to do with this. So I'm
wondering, is this an issue with Jaws 2021, or is there some setting or
something that I can change so that Jaws will stop doing this? I'm just
glad
that my Braille display works when this happens. Now, I know some of you
might
suggest switching to an earlier version of Jaws, but I do these things on a
daily basis, and besides I don't have any earlier versions of Jaws on this
computer as I uninstalled 2018 after I upgraded. Running Jaws 2021, Outlook
2013, the latest Edge and Windows 10 2004. Thanks for any help/suggestions
anyone can provide!!!!!

Hey Madison.
A good way to get JAWS version information displayed inn a convenient little
window is to go to the JAWS menu with jaws key + j, and hit up arrow once
(probably, this might be version dependent I suppose, but it's usuallya t the
bottom) to "about". Hit enter and you'll get what you need.

As for outlook, I am not sure quite what it is that you want. You want to know
your outlook version number and then paste it to someone? If you are getting
that info with tge command JAWS commands to display the version information of
an executable, this isn't displayed on screen so you can't copy and paste it as
though it was a line of text placed in an edit field.
It isn't. But if you wanted you could use speech history to retrieve it.
Press insert space, then h, then up arrow til you find the text that you need,
then copy and paste, and press escape.
There are usually more efficient ways to get version info. I seem to remember
outlook having an 'about" screen somewhere, too, but at the moment I can't find
it. Haha

How do I get the exact version of Jaws that I'm running? Also, when I do the
keystroke to get the Outlook version I copy and paste it, but it doesn't show up
in the message, but as attachments, none of which are the actual version info
they just seem to be recent messages, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks Madison

Pressing, Insert+j to get to the Jaws screen, then control+insert+v
If you press control+insert+v twice quickly, you can select the text and paste it. I just did that and got:

Yes, make sure you include the version numbers of the programs involved, e.g.
Jaws 2021, Windows 10, Office 2013, even better is to be specific as to which
Jaws build you use, the exact version of Windows which you can find by typing
"WinVer" into the Run or Windows search box and also the exact Outlook version,
you can get it by opening Outlook and pressing Jaws Key + Control + V, if you
press it twice quickly it will be in a virtual window where you can highlight it
and simply copy and paste it into your email.
Then describe exactly what you are doing and what issue you have.

Sieghard

Hi all,
I upgraded to Jaws 2021 almost 2 weeks ago now and I have a problem that I've
noticed. When I go to my favourites list in Edge, or when I go into contacts in
Outlook, or start a new message in Outlook type a letter and then do ctrl k to
bring up a list of addresses starting with that letter, Jaws will only read a
few items and then stop speaking. When this happens in favourites I have to alt
tab to something else and then alt tab back and then Jaws will start reading
again, but then stops speaking again after reading a few more items. When this
happens in Outlook I have to go to the bottom of the list of addresses starting
with that letter or the end of my contacts and then arrow up and Jaws will read
a few more and then stop speaking again. Now when I upgraded I was asked if I
wanted to import settings or something like that and I said yes, though I don't
recall having any settings set that have anything to do with this. So I'm
wondering, is this an issue with Jaws 2021, or is there some setting or

For that matter, the same goes for hardware. Too many factors can delay releases.

I have tried that. Narrator did come on, but it did not indicate that there was a "sort," button, yet my niece tells me it does pop up if you have "all episodes," selected.

Do a Windows Control Enter and Narrator should come on. If you do the same keystroke Narrator will shut off.

How do you install Narrator?

Sometimes Narrator sees buttons that JAWS doesn't. Also NVDA sometimes does. Worth a try.

Dear Listers:

My niece tells me that in the list of podcast episodes that where you
choose the "all episodes," option, which I know is in a combo box, to
the right of that is a button where you can sort the episodes from
either newest to oldest or oldest to newest. JAWS cannot seem to find
this button. I am really trying to find out about this, so if any of
you have ever used Spotify with JAWS will you please get back to me.
