Trouble reading MS word documents
Shirley Tracy
Hello everyone,
Are any of you beginning to have trouble reading documents in MS Word? Or is it just me?
I wrote an important letter to a company a few days ago, and I was trying to read it today to make some changes before sending it. I had trouble simply reading line by line. Did something change? Or am I in The Twilight Zone?

Is it connecting directly via WIFI, or is the device connected to the router
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
going through the network via the WIFI? It may make a difference. I've typically preferred to connect WIFI printers to the router and access them through the network, instead of my computer having to negotiate another WIFI connection. Some of these devices you can connect them either way, and turn off its WIFI and just plug it into the router. Glenn

Hi Ann,
Have you selected HP as the scanner in
Openbook? If not open OB and press, Alt + A, to open the advanced menu,
down arrow to, Device selection and press enter.
You should now be on, Scanner, so tab 1 time
into the list of options, arrow up / down to select the one you want, then tab
to, Okay, and press enter.
Remember to save your settings.
Stay safe and take care. Mike.

Windows fax and scan works with it with no problem, but although JAWS lists the scanner as a source, says it is processing, gives no error message ... the scanner just sits there doing nothing. Any clue how to make the stinker work? Thanks, Ann

Installed HP smart, which is virtually inaccessible. It might have installed additional drivers, thogh. the scanner works with it, but JAWS doesn't see the controls.

That may open it for use by other devices by properly installing a needed driver. Glenn

Re: How do I force OneDrive to download a file?
David Griffith
I am not sure if this whole issue has been resolved as I am late to the thread but if people want to know how to force OneDrive to download a file they simply have to press the application key and select always keep on this device. If you want to do the opposite and force a file into online status only then just hit the next option on the application menu which will be free up space.

Hi,Yes, and when I did, it said, "1 interrupted action" then basically failed. It says, "1" as the status for every file in my documents folder of my oneDrive.

He needs to make it bigger, Clicking more details will do that. Once that is done, ctrl-tab and ctrl-shift tab will change tabs no matter what has the focus.

I have never used slides, but I can't recreate your sheets problem with jaws on the latest windows version. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it is long past time to update that windows.

JAWS and google apps problems
Mark Muscat Bigpond <mmuscat@...>
Hello all, I am working with someone who has the following computer and problems with their access to both Google slides and Google sheets, just want to know if anyone has experienced this and if so, how they have been able to rectify the problems.
The computer is a Lenovo laptop with I5 processor, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10 version 1909. Fusion 2021. They are using both chrome version 87 and the latest Microsoft Edge with Chromium engine.
Problem: When accessing slides and going to the text boxes, the arrow keys do not provide verbal feedback. When typing in characters, JAWS reports what is being entered.
Problem with sheets is when pressing the alt+F to bring up the menu bar, then pressing the right arrow, JAWS looses the focus and ends back on the spreadsheet.
This has happened over the last couple of months including when fusion 2020 was being used.
Any thoughts or suggestions as this appears to happen on all browsers being used?
Many thanks and regards Mark Muscat

Dave,
Can you left and right arrow after you open task
manager?
If so, you can arrow to start up and then tab to
the list of programs and find Edge and uncheck it with the space
bar.

Hi,I figured it out. I just had to let it do its thing. I also tried to enable windows backup, but apparently its not very accessible with jaws or narrator. They both told me "setting up" then had a button that was greyed out. Is anyone on here, familiar with that feature?
