I have done that. Both Openbook and JAWS acknowledge that they see it, but nothing happens.

So far I can't get JAWS OCR (or Openbook) to scan with the HP Office
pro 8020 all-in-one printer/scannner. Windows fax and scan works
with it with no problem, but although JAWS lists the scanner as a
source, says it is processing, gives no error message ... the scanner
just sits there doing nothing. Any clue how to make the stinker work?

I use windows 7, and it seems to me that this was different in windows 10
some time back, as I've used task manager in windows 10, and other than the
startup tab, it seemed like the task manager in windows 7.

Hi Stan,
Call up task manager with shift control + escape and control tab to
the startup tab and uncheck it.
Assuming you are using windows 10.
In 7, you need to run a utility called msconfig with the run edit
box which you get with windows + R.

Installed HP smart, which is virtually inaccessible. It might have installed additional drivers, thogh. the scanner works with it, but JAWS doesn't see the controls.

I am not sure if this whole issue has been resolved as I am late to the thread but if people want to know  how to force OneDrive to download a file they simply have to press the application key and select always keep on this device.

If you want to do the opposite and force a file into online status only then  just  hit the next option on the application menu which will be free up space.

Fusion 2021. They are using both chrome version 87 and the latest Microsoft Edge with Chromium engine.

Problem:

When accessing slides and going to the text boxes, the arrow keys do not provide verbal feedback. When typing in characters, JAWS reports what is being entered.

Problem with sheets is when pressing the alt+F to bring up the menu bar, then pressing the right arrow, JAWS looses the focus and ends back on the spreadsheet.

This has happened over the last couple of months including when fusion 2020 was being used.

Any thoughts or suggestions as this appears to happen on all browsers being used?

Hi, Michelle and Jessica. I believe there is also a setting in JAWS that will determine how often a website will refresh. To find this,

1. Open the browser.

2. Press JAWS key plus V to enter Quick Settings.

3. In the search box that opens, enter the word refresh, and press ENTER on the result.

I believe the default is automatic, and I believe you can set the page not to refresh at all.
