Re: jfw itunes and blind tunes
Geri,
Yes, you should be able to. Did the second playlist get created in the same area of the search list as the first one? If so, you again highlight your iPod or iPhone, tab to the music checkbox and check it, then tab to a Sync or Apply button and press spacebar, then wait for the sync signal to chime. both playlists should then be on your device.

Re: Links won't open in outlook 2003
Omar,
Try this. Go to tools with alt-t, then options with o.
You will land on the preferences page, though JAWS doesn't verbalize it. If you want JAWS to give you verbal confirmation, press shift+control+tab once, then control+tab once. JAWS should then say, "Preferences."
Now tab once to "Email preferences," which is a button. Press the spacebar.
Now tab several times to the checkbox "Read all standard email in text only." Make sure it is unchecked.
Once that's done, tab several times to the okay" button for email options, which will take you back into the preferences page. You need to press the okay button here as well. In this case, it will go faster if you press shift+tab until you find it.

Omar, possible that you did change something with the install of 2010 and subsequent rollback to 2003. Restore is not a panacea for all things that might have changed. How about if you now do a repair on your Outlook 2003 installation?

Fortunately, there is a solution, which someone who rarely posts to the list told me off-list. When you land on the link, arrow one character to the right. For example, if the link begins, "http...," arrow to the letter after the "h." Then press enter.
Actually, you can make the link work from any point in the address except the first letter.

nonuniform tables in Word
Jean Menzies <jemenzies@...>
I'm using Jaws 13 and Word 2003. I have a Word document whose contents is a 9-page nonuniform table. When I try and use the commands of alt-windows and arrow keys, it tells me that I can not read rows and columns because the table is nonuniform with different numbers of columns in the rows. I tried turning table detection off, but I can't seem to follow the layout. If I use the down arrow key to read, then pressing up arrow will sometimes read me material I haven't heard before. I'm finding this document very confusing, and I don't know if it is because table handling has changed, or if it is the document itself. So, how can I read this document? I'm struggling because the Jaws commands are somewhat different than my old Jaws 8, which I just recently migrated from. Any tips would be appreciated on this. Omar,
Fortunately, there is a solution, which someone who rarely posts to the list told me off-list. When you land on the link, arrow one character to the right. For example, if the link begins, "http...," arrow to the letter after the "h." Then press enter.
Actually, you can make the link work from any point in the address except the first letter.

Omar,
Do you hear the word "link" when you arrow to that URL? If not, then it's not a real link. Something may be wrong, like an embedded character that doesn't show.
Also, are these messages plain text or html?

Omar,
Fortunately, there is a solution, which someone who rarely posts to the list told me off-list. When you land on the link, arrow one character to the right. For example, if the link begins, "http...," arrow to the letter after the "h." Then press enter.
Actually, you can make the link work from any point in the address except the first letter.

Hello,
I'm using Outlook 2003 to check my emails. For some reason, when I click on a link that someone sends me, or a link that I cut and paste for someone else, it won't open. I get no error messages either. The link just doesn't open. Is there something in outlook that I need to change? If I get an email from ebay or facebook, for example, with links present in them, I can click on those links with no problem. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Re: Links won't open in outlook 2003
Gary, yes, JAWS key+F7 performs this function in Outlook 2003, which I use. At least it does in HTML messages. I'm guessing yours is straight text because I find no links, and JAWS tells me I'm not in spellchecker.

I write a newsletter that is distributed as a PDF file to the Minnesota library community. The articles are brief and usually have a thumb-size photograph or logo and occasionally a one-third page photograph. I insert alternative text with each graphic. However, JAWS reads the text but skips the graphics. When I run the 2010 Word, I receive the notice, "Objects not inline."
Is there a way to format the page so that when Jaws encounters a graphic, it reads the alternative text and then proceeds to the next line? I thought of placing everything in tables but this creates problems with the text spacing when the text goes from a portion of the page width to full width.
I've attached Word and PDF versions of the most recent newsletter.
Thank you.

Yes, and in fact you can set up one of the Quick Access Tools to do that command, if you plan to use it a lot. I have one set up for recall, another set up for attaching files, another set up for saving attachments. A real time-saver those QAT.

Re: Certain Emails Not Reading In outlook
Tables are a b***ch. Some don't read worth a darn if they are not an even set of rows and columns.
I've found the best is to do a say all at the top of the message and let it read. Sometimes one or more of the table cells will repeat a few time, and I suspect this is due to inconsistent numbers of rows or columns being encountered.

I just tried clicking on a link in outlook with the jaws cursor, and that worked, but it really shouldn't be that way. We should be able to click on it with the regular cursor.

Dave,
Yes, jaws does say "link." I think the messages are plain text.

Omar,
Do you hear the word "link" when you arrow to that URL? If not, then it's not a real link. Something may be wrong, like an embedded character that doesn't show.
Also, are these messages plain text or html?

Hi Adrien,
I just tried that, and no go.

Omar,
Fortunately, there is a solution, which someone who rarely posts to the list told me off-list.
